    Nuvico NVJV-4000

Looks good for the price. Personally I haven't sold one yet we just started with Nuvico around 3-4 months ago. In the same arena there is DM's Eco 4(more money) ARM has like 2 or 3in that area, ICreal's Flex 4, Everfocus EDR410, Speco's DVR X4IP(haven't sold it either), Weldex WDR4000(same as later), KTL DVR4104, 4002N, 4003N. What is your application though? What features is the client(might be you) looking for??

    Casino DVR'S

Don't forget they always want a Mercedes for a Pinto price!!!!
  4. That transtech clearview is very interesting. What is list price on something like that?? I have several customers who install systems for police dept. interogation/interview rooms and similar sites. Usually (depending on regulations and budget) they use either a realtime 1-4 ch DVR with corresponding Audio or DVD Recorders with HD's(like a Tivo) and Louroe audio kits with a couple nice hi-res vf domes, box cam's with vf lens in security housings or(if budget really tight) board cams(usually metal cased) in housings, sometimes they even use box cams with mics built in(again if budget tight). What state or city are you in, if you don't mind me asking? If you want I could give you a couple of names and phone #'s of some guys with alot of experience in this field.

    Isn't Sanyo's DVR's stand-alone??

    Casino DVR'S

The funniest thing about this is from my customers experience is they want the best yet alot are still using VCRS. So the way I look at it is anything is going to be better then that. I could take an inexpensive 1ch DVR that cost less then a Sanyo SRC800A and the playback will be better and no tapes to change, just swap a HD every once in a while. For the CCTVKING where have you been hiding???

    TechSec IP Conference

Can't we all just get along??? I must agree with all of you on certain points. I think the IT guys should stick with IT and when it comes to IP based Security equipment they should use there IT experience and design the equipment around our needs and applications and not try to take over the world in a field that we (or I should say you all) have been mastering for years and also not try to take over methods and/or techniques that have proven throguh time to work effectively. I think by working side by side with their technology and our knowledge of the industry there is a much better chance of succeeding. In other words "One who masters one or 2 techniques will be far superior then one who tries to be a master of all" I think I seen that on a fortune cookie or maybe Kung Fu Theatre, anyways it makes the point.
  8. Yes definitly check that post out because there are many different rules and regulations in different states and counties. I have designed several systems to comply with several areas from vcrs, to dvd recorders with HD's, to 4 ch dvr's with 4 ch's of audio and even seperate audio recording devices.

    Question on Mobile DVR's

So Mace only?? None of its subsideraries?? or all the companies affiliated with mace?? Either way I find it hard to believe that nobody else here can get them. I bet if I made a couple calls I could get set up or maybe even the company I work for.

    DVR recommendations

    Question on Mobile DVR's

I have heard alot about that unit!!! Personally haven't seen it yet so couldn't really tell you my opinion. I do have alot of Everfocus, Arm and DM units out there and they all seem to have there own nitches so couldn't really tell you a favorite. I would ask what any good distributer would and thats whats the application and what features are you looking for?

    Plate reader equipment

OK some people need to stop drinking before posting on this site like the Master and Queen above and I can't believe Rory didn't get this but Bosch doesn't do Ultra View, GE does, Bosch has the Dinion. I do agree Tamron's IR lens are not very good as I have had alot of complaints. In Fact one of my good customers tried Tamron, Computar and of coarse some cheapo's first and then I sent him a Rainbow lens and he will never go back he says, although I have some customers who love computar and tamron. Security Master, I have had alot of problems with Toshibas IK64DNA and the 65WDA not being very good for the price.

    System Recommendations for Newbie

I might be mistaken but the Geo Vision cards need more processor then 1Ghz. Are you planning on istalling this system yourself?? I would use Extreme for all the D/N IR cameras especially since they are in a construction environment.

    Stand alone VS PC Based

The Queen needs to brush up alittle!!! There are stand alones that record realtime now and PC based is more user friendly because its windows XP and alot more people can use a PC then can program a VCR. SShe is right on the other stuff though stand alones are usually more reliable, secure and cheaper then PC based. PC based ususlly have the best internet viewing and playback, as well as alot more features.

    Day / night camera reliability

No but she was #1 last year in our company thanks to me working with her the first 4 months of the year. Other wise RH would have beat her, but I got her beat right now pretty good.
  22. JMANOFNVS

    Day / night camera reliability

Extreme is always choice for night apps utilizing IRs and b/w, color-b/w combo or D/N cameras but he just said D/N.

    zoom camera

I had some problems with the first set of zoom cameras from gvi to but I tell you what this model here is sweet but not cheap and they have about 6 models this being the best. Tameron used to have a good one but its discontinued and it didn't work on protocol like it was suppoosed to. The only way I could get it to be control through a dvr was using a Legacy receiver by the camera to translate the protocol to dc voltage signals or a DTMF decoder.

    Plate reader equipment

Extreme is the best guaranteed plate reader for the money.

    Advice on Quality

First that lens is way overkill for 7ft above a register. You could use a 3-8mm or 2.8-12mm and get right in close enough to see the dirt under their finger nails. Those cameras and that lens are not very good quality but the image could be satisfactory to see if some body is ripping you off depending on the lighting conditions.
