Port is open but not able to connect from internet
lowpro replied to kvk's topic in Security Cameras
Try rebooting your router. I've had a case where everything appeared to be open, and I was able to view the cameras locally on my iphone, but it wasn't until I rebooted the router that I was able to see them from the outside world. Good Luck. -

Motion Detection Camera Options

If you can, just hold tight. Costco package deals come and go. Usually they'll take them offline if they sell out. A few years back Costco was selling the 4 channel Q-See NVR packages. Q-see ended up shipping out 8 channel nvr systems because they had run out of the 4 channel boxes. -

Was this a package from Costco? The lack of Alarm I/O on the Lorex is why many went with the Swann package instead. I have 2 PIR sensors wired into my Swann NVR. -

Does your Lorex nvr have Alarm IN/OUT on the back? If not, then you won't be able to wire in an external PIR motion sensor. Look like these green blocks. -
Hikvision Cameras and NVR time off by an hour
lowpro replied to Ramias's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
Do you know how I do that? Do I put the NVR address as the time server? Log into the NVR via a web browser. Go into the config settings and sync the nvr to your computer's time. This is assuming that your computer itself is getting the right time from an ntp server. -

Yup! I would have got rear ended one time had I not checked my rear view mirror also. I managed to get out of the way just in a nick of time. The guy slammed into the car that was in front of me!

I currently have a duhua camera running on my Swann (hikvison) nvr. I also thought it was plug and play, but it wasn't. Hopefully this helps! http://www.cctvforum.com/viewtopic.php?f=19&t=38893 -

The best thing for you to do is to install external PIR motion sensors. Those will connect into the alarm I/O on the back of the NVR. Do a search for PIR sensors.

A few days ago we had an attempted break-in down the street. I realized that my system had captured some footage of the car driving by before it went back to the house. Take your best shot of ID'ing the kind of car it is. The car drives by and then comes back the opposite way after making a u-turn. Camera: Swann (hikvision) 3mp bullet camera from Costco bundle. 6kWCtK_dXf4 Thank you! -

Yeah, they have it. They have more footage of them walking up to the house. The house is probably 400-500 ft away from my cameras. Two guys walk up to the house while one guy stays in the car. There were there about 20 minutes before they left. They didn't get in. -
