Honeywell IP system extension with vendor neutral system
ssmith10pn replied to rkjha's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
It would be better if your DVRs had a loop out. Some DVRs have it and some don't. You can "T" the signal but be aware that it may weaken the signal. You will just have to try it and see. I don't have a suggestion on software because I only work with Genetec Omnicast/Security Center and Avigilon. -
Honeywell IP system extension with vendor neutral system
ssmith10pn replied to rkjha's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
I just checked Genetec Security Center and the only Honeywell product they support is H4D2F1. I would suggest putting your analog cameras on encoders that will play nice with whatever software you choose and put the old DVR's in the dumpster. -

I missed that part. Probably because I have terminated everything but patch cords for the last 20 years. -

24ga is fine but 23ga is not hard to find. Your looking in the wrong places. http://www.graybar.com/store/en/gb/genspeed-6-cat-6-non-plenum-cable http://www.graybar.com/store/en/gb/lanmark-1000-enhanced-cat-6-non-plenum-4-pair-utp-cable http://www.graybar.com/store/en/gb/media-6-65n4-cat-6-non-plenum-4-pair-u-utp-cable http://www.graybar.com/store/en/gb/lanmark-6-non-plenum-4-pair-utp-cable -

There is a photo floating around the internet somewhere of a Avigilon 16mp Pro with a 1000mm Lens on it shooting Sydney at 7000 Meters. It was pretty impressive. -

Unless you have really deep pockets this will probably not be the camera for you. First you have to buy a Cannon Lens. They vary from 1500 to 10,000 dollars. And then the camera will be somewhere in between those 2 numbers. I wouldn't expect more than 12fps if that. The 10MP JPEG2000 camera did 4fps and it was close to 10k without the lens. -

I installed 16MP Avigilon cameras before the term 4k was even invented. And 29MP too. -

Anybody can tell us what kinds of system Las Vegas are using
ssmith10pn replied to SunnyKim's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
The Casinos we service differ from state to state. Florida = Minimum of 30fps and 1920 x 1080 resolution, no motion recording. 24/7 recording Alabama = Minimum of 20fps and 1920 x 1080 resolution, no motion recording. 24/7 recording Also note there are no card games at the Casinos we service. They use Axis Cameras, Cisco switching, EMC² Isilon Virtual Servers and storage and Genetec Security Center for VMS. The Client Workstations are Dell Precision 7910 with Xeon Processors, Titan Video Cards, and dual 4k monitors. The workstations were 12k each. -

Pull in a 6 strand fiber. Use media converters on both ends. Lightening proof! -

Maybe a rat has chewed the wire? So these are 2 wire smokes? That sounds like quite a load on the panel. Have you calculated the total load? Checked voltage? Power supplies get weak. -
Can you provide more detail? At first a Valcom system comes to mind. It's voice only with 2way communication in banks of 24. It's popular in classrooms. Where they can do paging from the office to all classes, just certain classes, or a classroom can initiate a conversation to the office from the classroom. Works on 2 pair of UTP and punches down on a 66 block.

Avigilon 1.3 MP Lightcatcher dropping frames
ssmith10pn replied to cglaeser's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
Plug the server directly into the Netgear switch and see what happens. How long is the cable run from the Netgear Switch to the Light Catcher and how is it terminated? I could go on and on but you have to isolate the issue first. You could factory default the camera just to be sure. -
IP Camera Testing - What do you guys want to see?
ssmith10pn replied to Don Stephens's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
All the above is clear as day on their website with the exception of pricing. The pricing is structured so a dealer can make money. That's why it's confidential. Lines like Axis are great products but the end user can almost buy it for the same price a partner can. -

Avigilon WAN performance
ssmith10pn replied to cglaeser's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
You answered your own question. When the upstream is 5mbps that's ok but not great. 2.5mbps not good. Also you need to review in a small pane so the stream is in low res. Then zoom in on still shots. -

Your switch nor your camera know if it's cat5 or cat6. Cat6 is backward compatible.
