  1. That's it! And also if a server has even a 1 channel license purchased after the fall of September 2012 it qualifies for the upgrade.
  2. You do know the upgrade is pretty cheap right? It's the cost of one camera license per server.
  3. Me thinks he has a neighbor stealing internet.
  4. Avigilon released a stand alone client for 4.12 that runs as an exe. You can run both on the same computer. I have to connect to both because I have customers with both. Look for AvigilonControlCenterStandaloneClient-4.12.0.44.exe ftp://ftp.avigilon.com/
  5. Can you verify if that bandwidth is upstream or downstream? Could there be a computer in the house that's running pier to pier file sharing?
  6. You think that's expensive.. We have 2 of these. http://www.idealindustries.com/prodDetail.do?prodId=LanTEK2&div=2&l1=certifiers&l2=lantek2
  7. I loose them before I wear the blades out
  8. Look at the post above you.
  9. Good luck with that. I'm not wasting any more of my time on this...
  10. What is the NVR? What make and model cameras?

So I bet you hate 1080p 24fps Blu Ray movies.
  13. Doesn't Arkansas require CCTV licensing to work or install camera systems in a commercial (Public) building?

So I take it your not a professional? Because that isn't realistic. This is video surveillance not Hollywood. Even at 15fps or even 10 your not going to miss a thing. In the real world we work in it would not be feasible to support the storage for high frame rates just so it was smooth. We are about collecting evidence and if an assault or robbery happens it's not going to make a hill of beans weather its 30fps or 5 in a court of law. It's still going to show the same thing. I have seen hundreds of slip and falls in hospitals and it looks the same at 5fps as it does at 20. They slip and they hit the ground.

And high frame rates too. Funny The Indian gaming commission only requires 20fps but he thinks he needs 24 to 30
  16. Ok so I tested the cat5 RJ45 connectors with the Berk-Tec Landmark 6 Plenum. 23ga conductors I installed a EZ-RJ45 Cat 5/5e connector on one end Part number 202003j http://www.markertek.com/Connectors-Adapters/Data-Connectors-Adapters/RJ45-CAT5-and-CAT6-Connectors/Platinum-Tools/202003J.xhtml With this crimp tool http://www.platinumtools.com/products/100004.php?cat=4 And on the other end I used standard connector http://www.allentelproducts.com/catalog/model_AT8X8SC-2224.htm?popup=1 Both worked and tested fine. It took some extra effort to squeeze the crimp tool. If I would have had the HD crimp tool it would have been no problem http://www.platinumtools.com/products/100054.php?cat=4
  17. You did the right thing anyway. There is no way that direct burial is flexible enough to plug directly into a camera.
  18. There is plenty of 24ga Cat6 out there. I think the 23ga will still fit. I'll check it this morning as I have a box of Berk-Tec Landmark-6 sitting here.
  19. Technically solid cable is considered a permanent link and should be punched down to a 110 keystone or other jack on both ends. Some cameras don't give you enough room to punch it down and use a short patch cord but I do it when ever I can. If I have to put a RJ45 on cat6 I just use the cat5 RJ45s. Haven't had a problem.
  20. I love the how easy it is to reboot an Axis camera

    RAW vs MP4 or AVI

    Both are HUGE!!!
  22. So your using a software solution instead of a hardware solution. I would much rather pop out a drive and replace with another without loosing anything or even stopping services. I would hate to have to say: "Mr customer that armed robbery isn't recorded because we lost a hard drive." Who are you to say it isn't right?
  23. There is no redundancy in JBOD. RAID 5 is the best performing RAID that has redundancy at the hardware level.
  24. That's strange because Avigilon sets all their servers up in RAID 5
