  1. Sounds just like Doorking to me. It will even work on a dialup connection.
  2. I have a bone yard like that too.......
  3. Does the wire go under ground? What type of wire? We have found that regular riser cable or Plenum cable will only last about 3 years in underground conduit.
  4. Look at HID Edge or Edge EVO http://www.hidglobal.com/products/controllers

    Question Regarding Power Distance

Ok, Let me approach this from the code side. First off the fire relay is a supervised device. The code states the fire relay can only have 3 feet of unsupervised wire. This means the fire alarm people will have to set a relay next to your power supply so that it only has 3 feet of unsupervised wire. Next issue is the fire relay can not have the current flowing through it. It should be dry. This means your power supply will have to have a fire input. All UL rated access control power supplies have a fire input.
  6. True^^ Also true^^ Not a problem with Avigilon though. You can set the motion detection in the client and it pushes it to the camera. Genetec Security Center? Different story. Unless you want to let the Archiver handle the motion detection you have to configure on the camera Ask me how I know.... I manage a system with Genetec SC and about 600 Axis Cameras. Mostly P3367 Fixed Domes and Q6032 PTZs
  7. Have you tried Panasonic?
  8. Well you better not shop the big guys then.

    Axis Replacements

I really like the Panasonic but they aren't cheap!
  11. Doesn't the imager on the camera rotate also?
  12. (a little assuming here) If he want's a strike and a Mag I would assume it's an exterior door. using both would allow it to remain secure in a power fail situation. If the power was off you would simply turn the handle on the door and exit normally. The IEI keypad should have a lock relay with a common, Normally open, and normally closed terminals. If the maglock and strike will both work on the same power connect the Mag to the Normally closed and the strike to Normally open. If you need separate power for both you can use the IEI strike relay to trigger a Altronix RBSN relay. http://www.altronix.com/products/product.php?name=RBSN
  13. Messoa does a lot of OEM work.
  14. True, We just call them fuses out of habit in the communication trade instead of "Module"
  15. A buried cable will do it every time. It's a lightening rod in the ground. You need protectors on both ends. Real protectors like these: http://205.186.133.46/telecom/products/view/301-4-6-pair-cat5e Fuses like these: http://205.186.133.46/telecom/products/view/75--5-75v-solid-state-module-with-ptc And both ends grounded. That's why I always push for wireless or fiber links.
  16. IMO It's like going from Windows XP to Windows 8. Some will like it, some wont. But it's here to stay. Me personally, I'm so fluent in 4.12 and work on systems every day from 1 server to 60 servers that I'm not ready for 5. I have 5 running at home to try and get used to it. For those that have 4.12 systems and 5 systems that we need to connect to both, Avigilon released a stand alone client so you can run the 4.12 client and the 5 client on the same computer. As you may or may not know 4.12 client can't see 5.x servers and the 5.x client can't see the 4.12 servers. ftp://ftp.avigilon.com/AvigilonControlCenterClientStandalone-4.12.0.44.exe
  17. Personally I would just run separate power and call it a day.
  18. Anytime you supply external voltage it doesn't use POE and will just disable it. Operating Temperature: Temperature: -40℃ ~ 55℃ (AC 24V) -10℃ ~ 55℃ (PoE Plus) Built-in Heater & Fan Humidity: 90% RH So it's saying no heater if you run it POE.
  19. This injector looks like it will work. http://www.trendnet.com/products/proddetail.asp?prod=155_TPE-105i#tabs-solution02 How long is your cable run?
  20. The camera car run on 24v AC or POE+ Not both. Probably easier to just pull an 18-2 along with the data cable.
  21. Good looking image to me!
  22. It really needs to be sealed against the glass or have a shadow box built around it.
  23. It's either fog or the dew is falling. I bet if you look at your weather conditions the temperature is right at dew point or just below. See it all the time. The IR reflects off the water droplets.
  24. That is the spec they guarantee it to work. That doesn't mean it won't work beyond that. If you go Ethernet over Coax distance won't be an issue. http://www.axis.com/products/cam_acc/media_converters/cam_t8640/ http://www.nvt.com/content.php?type=product&key=ec1701&cid=root
