  1. You can't buy anything decent for that price. Axis, ACTi, Aercont, are all double or even triple that. Actually decent analog cameras are more than that!

Pros shoot in RAW and Edit in RAW. They only convert to Jpeg for public consumption. And there is night and day difference in a jpeg image and a RAW image quality.

None, I would do 3 cameras.

I'm sorry you don't speak fluent english so I can understand. You use one camera for "panoramic" over view and camera dedicated for License plate. Not one camera for both purposes. http://products.boschsecurity.hu/en/HU/products/bxp/SKU44240235639007205340288011-CATM6fb1077ddb89b738497d8db3b1389c96 http://avigilon.com/products/cameras/hd-lpr/info/
  6. Pole was new. Just went to the store and found a color close. You can also take a sample to an automotive paint supply store and they can match it perfectly. We disassembled the cameras and painted them. I'm not crazy about the dark color but so far so good. The Domes are Avigilon JPEG2000 5MP domes and the housing has a Avigilon 16MP pro.

Not sure why people keep trying to re-invent the wheel. There are cameras designed specifically for License Plates but yet people continue to try and cut corners and try to make a camera not designed for this purpose.

The 5mp Jpeg 2000 cameras are pretty thirsty. Here is 19 of them
  9. Depends on if your talking 4:3 or 16:9 format.
  10. I have a customer with 10 Pro Cameras on one Facility.
  11. How can a 5mp picture be judged by a 1024 x 768 image?
  12. I see a couple of issues. The patch Panel area is going to be tough to terminate. I guess you would have to mount it backward, punch it down then flip it. Rack Mounted Equipment pulls air through the front and exhausts out the back. The optional fans are blowing the opposite direction. If your going to drop a server in there you need square rack holes. Not threaded. Also looks like there isn't enough depth available for a server.
  13. Why would you need a VPN? Too many ports to forward?
  14. I'm a little confused. They have released 5.0 but not an upgrade until fall? So if you want to run 5.0 server now you have to do a total uninstall of 4.12?
  15. It happened 3 times here in one day. http://www.wsfa.com/story/22633001/four-men-arrested-in-connection-with-three-montgomery-home-robberies

    Power surge?

I see where your going with that. Maybe one plug has an open neutral and it pulled it's neutral through the VGA cable?

    Power surge?

Sounds more logical to me that the power supply went haywire in the monitor.

Yeah, it's not paper-cuttin' sharp, but I think it's acceptable. I reset the sharpness and image quality to default values. At night it's a tad on the soft side, but I'm quite pleased with the lack of IR hotspot. The IR lighting is very even. I have two 5MP non-IR domes at another site and the focus and detail is excellent, but they are outdoor cameras where the available light can decrease the aperture and increase the DOF, so it's not an apples to apples comparison. I'm thinking of getting another camera for my house and leaning towards the 3MP dome with IR. My thinking is I want the WDR so that headlights and taillights are less of an issue as vehicles make a late night loop in our cul-de-sac. I think Mike always suggests, get the 5MP over the 3MP. Comments? Best, Christopher I always go back and hit auto focus again when the ambient light is low enough to have the iris wide open.
  19. I have no idea. The only number I saw was the customer price with all the labor, Server, PC Prox, Scanner, Printer, Drivers license scanner, ect.
