    Avigilon 5MP bullet

Try changing the zoom slightly. sometimes when the zoom is up against the stop it won't auto focus.
  2. Change your frame rate and leave the quality at default.

    UTC (GE) Facility Commander

I don't know all the details but there was a lawsuit between Mercury and Lenel. I believe Lenel's NGP panels are not Mercury.

Ask me about flashing a PNX+/Micro 2000 by recommendation of tech support and turning it into a brick after I got the "Flash Successful" message. Nice way to lock everyone out of the building! LOL. Happened to me on one of those DirecDoor controllers. How they chose that FPGA and flash method on a device whose uptime is critical is beyond me... I've heard the OnGuard migration strategy too, but have seen that FC 7.8 will be released. Seems to be a multi-step process no doubt, and while I wish them luck in the endeavor; I've been exhausted of any will to ride out the waves! UTC told me to push the Firmware update from Controller Monitor in FC. That was a disaster! We are training up for Software House as a Plan B.
  5. You need to find out whats available in the traveler cable. If there is an unused RG6 or RG59 in there you can use these: http://www.axis.com/products/cam_acc/media_converters/cam_t8640/ http://www.nvt.com/content.php?type=template&key=productfamily&ckey=eoc

They are claiming Lenel will support the Micros and Direct Door with OnGuard 6.6 when I had the training. We will see. Micros and Jboxes were by far the easiest wiring concept of any hardware.
  8. I had to make some GE Legand IPs work with Avigilon and used an Axis Encoder with the BNC out on the GE. I will have to say the results were very nice. The user thought they were using an Axis PTZ. I have probably converted 100 analog PTZs over to Avigilon encoders and I have to say that single channel Axis encoder was pretty impressive. In case anyone ever converts a Legacy GE PTZ the protocol is Kalatel Digiplex and the Avigilon encoder is Kalatel ASCII. So you need a KTD-313 to translate the ASCII to Digiplex. The newer GE domes (Legand and Truvision) have selectable protocols and support Pelco P and Pelco D.
  9. Wouldn't a brick camera in a heated housing be a better option? Just asking. I have never done a freezer installation.
  10. Strange, Their Compatibility chart shows their cameras with 3rd party NVRs but nothing about their NVRs with third party cameras. http://www.avtech.com.tw/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=129&Itemid=415&lang=en
  11. Motion Pictures are 24fps. Just Sayin
  12. I'm amazed at why people think they need 30fps on fixed cameras. Total waste! 15 or 7.5fps will do just fine!
  13. Satellite dish arms look better, more adjustable and don't look like they belong in your bathroom.

    Geovision Parts

I have some 1480 cards, Control Center Licenses, and a 8channel 3rd party IP cam license. PM me if interested. I have no use for this stuff. I will almost give it away. PM me if interested.
  15. I'll bet their LPR cameras are still Jpeg2000. The interesting part to me is using an encoder on a Analog tag camera like an Extreme CCTV. What if you made every frame a key frame on H264? Did you try that? I was also curious how your getting enough frame rate with the 5mp Jpeg2000? Slow moving cars?
  16. before anyone gets sand in their Vagina the H264 cams have the option to change it to Mjpeg like most manufacturers do but the bandwidth is ugly. A Avigilon 2.0mp at 15ips and 1 key frame per second is 6.0mbps The same camera in Mjpeg at 15ips is 25mbps.

  18. I will try to take some pictures tomorrow.
  19. We use the Dortronics gate mag locks that have the 3/4 NPT conduit fitting already in it. We mount the maglock on the post and come up out of the ground with the conduit. We mount the armature on the gate itself so no conduit is required on the gate.
  20. And that is for a single license. They drop as you buy multiples.
  21. I hear you, but why deal with a company that does not want to deal with you when there's so many good choices out there. I tried to get Avigilon involved in a project and they were very unresponsive at the corporate and local level. Now why would they turn their nose up at business? I believe not all the facts are being brought to the table here. We have excellent service from our Avigilon Reps. Our customer base of 100 cameras or more have 3 possible solution paths they have chosen. They have converted to Avigilon and are very happy. Or they are on Genetec and wished they would have chosen Avigilon Or they are still on GE and Migrating. http://avigilon.com/#/sales-locator/
  22. The 5mp with the 9-22 is 12 degrees at 22mm.
  23. Have not checked the viewing angle at 170' But I'll bet that exceeds IR range by a good bit.

Looked like he dropped the knife when he was running away.
  25. That would be fine but in case you hadn't noticed this forum is not just people in the industry. It's also full of first time DIYers that want something for nothing.
