Axis Q7401 installation in Omnicast 4.8
ssmith10pn replied to vinaya.svnt's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
With the Omnicast Config tool in Physical Mode (Not Logical) right click on the Archiver you want to add the Legend too. Select Add unit The ports need to match how you configured it in the Archiver. Also in the Legend make sure make sure Sym Secure Legacy is not checked. Screen shot is bad. -

ssmith10pn replied to vinaya.svnt's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
I will be on site tomorrow and the system is Omnicast with dozens of Legend IP domes with the only wires connected to them is a Cat 6 and power wire. I will get some screen shots for you. -

Axis Q7401 installation in Omnicast 4.8
ssmith10pn replied to vinaya.svnt's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
PS, I connected a Legand Dome to and Avigilon Encoder and used the 485 out of the encoder and configured the Dome on Pellco D 2600 (Position 9 on switch 1). PTZ navigates fine but video quality out of the Legand BNC is awful! -

ssmith10pn replied to vinaya.svnt's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
Omnicast and GE Legand IP PTZ work fine together. I'm reaching out to one of my co workers and I'll get you some more info. Do you have the Legand on Firmware 7.7? -

I'm not aware of any 3000.00 cameras. I'm aware of some 8 and 10,000 dollar cameras and 10,000 dollar lenses but not in this conversation. You can use Axis or Acti but the Avigilon camera of equal specs are cheaper. -

Anyone used Brivo or have thoughts on them?
ssmith10pn replied to Razer_SE's topic in General Access Control Discussion
Ill just be honest with you. Pin only is a bad idea. You have no identify of who entered the code. They get passed around. Your better off passing out keys. Just you a basic HID 26bit card. You can even have blank cards at each location and when you have one issued just have that person stand at the reader and call you and you enroll him. 2 min process. If you wanted to bump it up you could enforce Card/Pin entrance to ensure the card doesn't get passed around. -

You can show everyone street price and then everyone already knows their discount level. Much simpler. -

Thats an interesting concept. I guess you could say Cloud Access Control. I will look at it harder when I get the chance. Wouldn't really work in our market target. We consider 500 readers and 18,000 card holders one of our medium systems. -

I looked at their website and just saw a bunch of fluff. No hardware. You could use Facility Commander housed at one location on a server, Use their Direct Door Boxes at each location. 525 keypads which do HID or Cassy Rusco Badges or enter by Pin. http://utcfssecurityproducts.com/ProductsAndServices/Pages/DirecDoor.aspx http://utcfssecurityproducts.com/ProductsAndServices/Site%20Assets/460618001_T-500-RDR.pdf -
