Calculating network data throughput requirements?
ssmith10pn replied to SpyGuy10's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
I run DU meter on the servers when I feel like im getting close. Once I hit that magic number I start loading cameras on a new server. Be aware there is upstream traffic also. Depends on how many clients and how much the clients are viewing. One monitor with 4 cameras is one thing but you start getting tripple or quad monitors with 16 on a screen the traffic goes up quick. That's why I use DU meter because it shows traffic both ways. -

I just can't see why you would need anything more than D1 Resolution inside a tiny Elevator car. -
Cheap IP Video Encoders?

Why don't you just get a newer GV card? I have a GV-1480-16 PCIE for sale but that's way too much card for what you need. -

Try putting the camera IP in the trusted zone and take the security slider for the trusted zone all the way down.

If your Pelco cameras are on this list then it's a no brainer to me. http://avigilon.com/downloads/acc4/ACC-Support-Devices-4.10.0.48.pdf You can go through the training videos and see how easy it really is. http://avigilon.com/support/training/ -

Most 640 x 480s are almost double that unless they are just junk. -
And what was the answer? Did it correct the problem?

Yea he sent me a nice little nasty gram in a PM He just caught me in a mood And how was I insulting?

You are the noob because you gave no information. Are we supposed to telepathically figure out what camera you have? Read your manual first. Thats what we would have to do. If it is adjustable it will have a pot on the IR board which the manual will explain.

There is a reason why a real tag camera is 2000+ Half of that is in the illumination.
-
Well it looks cool but I can't see why. There is almost always spare wires in the traveler. Not to mention that anything in the elevator pit has to be in rigid conduit.
-
Yea I'm lost on the network topology.

I didn't know about the 300v threshold. So if the high voltage is 480 instead of 220 it's a whole different ball game. -

I'm betting those Geo 1.3 MP cameras won't see a single tag at night.
