When you say "directly" connected what do you mean? No switch? Just PC direct? What are the specs on the PC? -
What are the best Lens for the Arecont AV3100-AI? Need help

That's what I thought, The Cmos handles the lighting and if you put an auto Iris Lens on it that gets disabled. -
Problem with door releasing when door is wiggled.
ssmith10pn replied to jmorin78's topic in General Access Control Discussion
Sounds like the door contact is connected to the request to exit instead of the door contact terminals. There should be a Jbox in the ceiling that the reader connects to along with the REX and PIR. -
Lock release when fire alarm trigger...
ssmith10pn replied to tcssystem's topic in General Access Control Discussion
The power supply power must be shunted by a Supervised Relay. A maximum of 3 feet of unsupervised wire between the relay and the UL power supply. Basically the Fire alarm people need to mount a supervised relay next to your power supply and you need a fail safe lock. -
I had a 3100 that eorked flawless on a Geovision System for over a year. I removed it from the Geovision System (Mouse Click) and added it to Avigilon. Now it errors out about once a week and has to be power cycled. Thanks for the firmware link. I'll see if an update will take care of it.

I doubt seriously C4 has written a driver for a Mobotix camera. You can try here. http://www.c4forums.com/ -

New system build - Exacq vs. ACTi NVR
ssmith10pn replied to slik_rik30's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
We are about to flip a MAJOR MAJOR corporation to Avigilon. When the deal is done I will talk about it. This scenario has been playing it self out over and over again at LARGE scale corporations and government agencies. You can call it over priced crap if you want to but we will be the last one laughing all the way to the bank. We aren't selling the product with "Smoke and Mirrors". The product sells itself with user simplicity. -

The only Haters of Avigilon are the ones that can't sell it or buy it. " title="Applause" /> -
Help with Dedicated Micros ECO4
ssmith10pn replied to danjaeggi's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
What's the static IP of the DVR? I assume the Router is 192.168.1.1? What is your WAN IP? You can put XXX for your last octet but I need to know the first 3 octets. -

That's fine, But either the photo hosting service or your computer is down sizing the image to a much smaller size discarding pixels. -
My screen shots show DU meter as well. Pay close attention to Server 2. That's 15 Avigilon 5mp cameras. server1 server2 server3 What FPS and quality setting? 4 FPS default quality. I put 4 more cameras on it and I'm going to stop there. Server2 Full Load

What number do u use to calculate Max bandwidth per server ? 250Mbps We have not hit that yet. Next week will will have enough cameras online to hit that number. I have one server with 15 (5Mp) cameras running at about 175Mbps I have another server with 14 (1Mp), 4 (2Mp), and 11 (4channel Encoders) running at 75Mbps I have 10 More (5Mp) cameras coming on line next week. Ironically, the server with the 15 (5Mp) cameras gets about 14 days on 5TB of storage and the second server takes 15TB to get the same amount of time. Server 1 is in a parking deck so there is very little motion. Server 2 is in a Hospital that is very active 24/7

multi layer streaming
ssmith10pn replied to Tom12345's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
Install DU meter on your desktop and see what happens. You might be worrying about nothing. In some cases your screen resolution and and window size dictates the stream size. I know it does on Avigilon. -
Avigilon gave us a file that tests write speeds on a drive. Pretty Eye Opening stuff. The Avigilon Servers with the Onboard RAID 5 SAN Drives were in the 280MBPS range and the NS-480 SAN was 480MBPS. No that's not a typo. Mega Bytes not Mega bits. I'll bet those cheap NAS drives won't write 100Mbps.
