  1. Avigilon encoder will record in jpeg2000 so every frame would be a key frame. Just a thought. It also does 30 fps.
  2. 20 meters wide will take 4875 pixels in width for Tags and 5850 for facial.

    Avigilon IPO

What part is actually made in North America? Just wondering? They might be assembled in Canada but that would be it. The Chipsets, imagers, lens, all come from over seas. The key point might be where over seas. I don't have a problem with Japanese or Korean products. Only China and other 3rd world countries. The part that sets Avigilon apart from others is the Software. That's not coming from over seas.
  4. So Ando, Did you just dismiss what I said above? I had 8 7411's do as I described with a Geovision NVR and Layer 3 Cisco POE switch.
  5. Check the time on the cameras. We had some of those doing the same thing and after reboot they were on December 31st 1999 23:45. Like it had a Y2K bug. I set the date and time and all issues went away.
  6. What did you do about your 500 meter runs?

    Exacqvision got better!

No doubt Avigilon is one of the best softwares out there. It's also one of the most expensive.
  8. When you have money to burn, http://www.emc.com/products/series/cx4-series.htm
  9. You need to install Geovision GV-NVR on a machine to record and view the cameras. Multiview is used to view that machine and is clunky at best. I think GV-NVR is free if your using Geovision IP cameras.
  10. A picture would be nice. I going to go out on a limb here and say that it's a Analog camera with a video and power over UTP dongle.
  11. We use the old reliable Extreme / Bosch analog with an Encoder. Works like a champ.

New SONY HD Hybrid over Coax

I'll just keep using those RG-59 cables as a pull string for my cat6 but thanks anyway.

  14. Just curios what is max bandwidth per server u getting I just finish project with 51 Avigilon cams across 3 servers I'll check that out and let you know. We do have the NICs Teamed and the switch gear supports Teaming.
  15. Can you be more specific about this network? Switch make and model? What type of connection between switches? 10gig between switches? One project I work on has 30 Avigilon 1mp cameras, 10 2mp cameras, 21 5mp cameras, 32 encoders, 3 servers, ISCSI storage, and 4 clients running and it's not even a blip on their radar. This is all spread over a large building with about 20 IDF closets. Everything in on the customers physical network but a VLAN just for security devices. Soon to come 30 more cameras running across town on single mode fiber. (11 Miles) back to the servers at the main campus.
  16. Our Avigilon 5MP cameras at 5 Frames per second and default quality stream at a whopping 14.5 Mbps " title="Applause" />
  17. From my Arecont training I remember Exacq being the best for Arecont cameras.
  18. When was the last time you were in a HP? They are no different than any other PC these days. Not defending HP just trying to keep facts straight. oop's, I'm thinking of Dell Dell is made by Acer.

  20. Dead on! We have several Avigilon servers with one NIC on the customers 10.x.x.x network and our cameras and switch on a second NIC with a 192.168.1.x network.
  21. So if I am following this correctly you have 5 IP cameras, 1 server and 2 clients with a 2nd NIC connected to the switch and that's the only thing connected to the switch? The other NICs of the 2 client machines are going to be connected to a different physical network? If this is the right scenario you don't need a Axis guy you just need a network guy. No Vlans necessary in this plan. Quite simple actually.

    PTZ camera doubt

What he is saying is yes they can be controlled by software but its herky jerky at best. Nothing better than a good old joy stick on RS485
  23. I didn't go through every sentence of this thread so if it was already mentioned I apologize. Instead of going through that port numbering and forwarding headache why not use a router with built in VPN server so you can just jump directly onto that network and not port forwarding is needed?
  24. Since your not a integrator that does this stuff daily and have access to the protected lines I would consider subbing it to a company that can do the big hitters in the industry. Axis is a good IP line that can be bought through distribution but then you would need something like Omnicast for the software side. Or Avigilon for the Software solution and a mixture of Axis and Avigilon for the cameras.
