Exporting video as exe will not run on computers..
ssmith10pn replied to ssmith10pn's topic in Geovision
I think I found the problem! I just ran a test on a 8.4 system and it worked. If you save as an AVI there is a new dropdown on the settings tab to select the compression. If you choose Mpeg4 all 16 cameras play in windows media player! -

Guys you are great help. Thanks you very much for the suggestions. Here's what appears to be the real problem. This incident is a fight. That fight and the take down spans across multiple cameras. You really need to be in multiview to see all the angles and parties involved as well as the action leading up to the fight. A: Easy Viewer is to complicated for the untrained person to use. And, it only allows you to see one camera at a time. If I save the 16 channels as an AVI or exe and Geovision is installed, Windows media will play the 16 channel matrix so it must be a codec or active x issue. If geovision is not installed windows media is a black screen. I'm going to sift through Rory's suggestions and see what I can come up with. I tried the backup method and like I said it's like Remote viewer lite. You have to highlight the events you want to play and multiview in not avaible. I'm going to try it with 8.4 and see if it makes a difference but I doubt it will. BTW, Using the backup method the files are freaking huge! 30 min. of 4 cameras is 760 MB. It wont even fit on a CD. -

That didn't work either. Apparently Geovision has to be installed to support multiview. Single camera files work fine. bummer.. -

XP PRO, I even tried it on my wife's Win7 64 bit laptop and I get the same thing. It's like there is a codec missing that Geo is not supplying. That's on a 8.3.4 system. I had a single camera video off of a 8.4 system saved as an .avi and it played fine. I'm going to try saving a multi camera clip as an avi and see what happens. -

Great class, great products. If you get an opportunity check in to these products. Very impressive stuff. -
woodyads, No disrespect intended but you must not live on the same planet I do. You keep using buzz words like Legacy when referring to Multimode fiber. You keep insinuating with words like "Commercial", "Enterprise", "Lower End" that we are residential installers or just back woods hicks stuck in the 90s. You sir are all wet. We just completed a 1,000,000 dollar cat6 and fiber job on a renovation job of one of the key buildings at a local Air Force Base. This building also houses US Government Spooks. Fiber to the desktop. Guess what? Multimode Main feed entering the building: 1 OSP cable with 24 strands (2 buffer tubes) single mode and 24 strands 50 micron multi mode terminated in the MDF. 6 more IDF closets connected to the MDF with guess what? 62.5 Multimode. I think I have a clue about fiber since it involves about 20 hours of my week splicing, repairing, terminating, and troubleshooting. I'm trained and certified by Corning, Systamax, AFL, Noyes, and others. I use a Fugikura 60-S fusion splicer, Noyes M-200 OTDR, and Noyes C860 Quad OTDR and Certifier. I think I have a clue when I say the 62.5 Multimode is going no where and is still installed everyday on new and enterprise projects. If you don't believe me would you like me to have a Corning Rep check in?

Was the speed of the vehicle and distance mentioned and I missed it? That is going to dictate a few parameters. -
Ok it was my understanding you were putting computers outside.

Looking for Eyemax dealer to order replacement PTZ parts
ssmith10pn replied to ssmith10pn's topic in General Digital Discussion
I just put 2+2 together. I spoke to these non english speaking guys Saturday. They wouldn't help me what so ever because I didn't have an account. All that I wanted to know is if they sold the part. If I could have reached through the phone I would have choked him. -

I have a PTZ camera that has no real identifying marks other than the outer globe has "Eyemax" on it. Not sure if I can post pictures with a new account yet but I need a replacement clear dome lens. -
For 200M and less yes. For 2000M and less no.

Slow local network access when running Geovision

Since it speeds back up I would say your hitting the write speed limit of the Hard drive. Is it IDE, SATA, or Sata E? -
Duh! It's right there to my left!

Where at in Alabama? I'm in Montgomery.
-
As was said above when you add IP cameras it also adds a 25 camera screen. Control Center has a 25 camera screen also.
-
In Montgomery Alabama. Been doing CCTV for about 10 years but CCTV is a small part of my day. Mostly Commercial Communications troubleshooting. Fiber, Cat5, Cat6, DSL, T1, Large scale access control.

One thing I did notice was Remote View Log and Multiview was almost identical to being on the system.
-
On 8.3 and newer when you open Remote Viewlog there is a option on the screen to chose Remote DVR or Remote Storage. Have you tried the Remote Storage option? I haven't but was just wondering.
