  1. Hi all. I hope some one can help me how to set up Mobotix cameras with Qnap nvr. I have Qnap VS-2008 Pro nvr, Mobotix D24-sec and Mobotix M12D-Sec-Dn 3 mpx cameras, SMCGS8P 10/100/1000 poe switch, Zyxel P-660HW-D1 adsl with 8mb/2mb connection. I have to install demo system for customers, but have huge problems with remote view from internet. When i use system from local pc, everything seems to be quite ok. But when i try use system with remote pc from internet, i can log in ok, after around 15 sec i will get pictures from cameras. But frame rate is so poor (i get 1 pic in 5-10 sec). Cant play recorded files (around 1 frame in 10 sec), if i try snap shot image it starts loading image, but image will never come. it just keep loading. My customer wants recorded video has to be max 3mpx. From where i should try to find problem? If some one has experience Mobotix cameras with Qnap nvr ALL HELP IS MORE THAN WELLCOME!
  2. You can record all your cameras. It is max resolution/camera.
  3. Hi. I just sold few of these cameras, but i have not ever used those before. Any opinion, good or bad picture quality? Does these take 4 ip camera licenses or only 1 when connected nvr? Thx.
  4. I'm useing Qnap nvr and sold them big enought nvr (VS-8024) for this case, because customer needed 8 hdd slots. So, it is not so big issue how many "camera input" those will take. I dont have to buy extra "ip licenses" with this NVR. I have used Arecont cameras before, but not those models. My customer with this case has a big terminal hall and he was very happy when i told him there are also cameras like AV8185 and AV8365. Those will fit perfect if picture quality is ok. I just dont have money and time for test all new models
  5. How important is monitor quality for NVR systems? I know that with analog systems monitor quality is very important, but is it same with ip systems? Any kind of full hd is good enought, or do you get better video / pictures with more expencive and better quality monitor? Thx for comments
  6. Thx Soundy. Just wanted confirm that. Now i dont have to spend a lot of money and test it by myself
  7. Hi Guys. What kind of installation monitor or devices do you use when focusing ip cameras? Is there any better device than laptop pc? Sometimes (almoust every time with outdoor cameras) it is so hard hold laptop pc in other hand ( + power adapter for pc, poe adapter for camera...) and focus camera with other hand + if weather is cold, poor and rainy like we usually have here in Finland . There must be easier way to do it alone, laptop is too clumsy. Axis has AXIS T8412, but only works with axis cameras i belive. Any similar device with bigger screen? Thx for your replys Yours Andy
  8. Thx a lot for replys. Last case we had customer wanted change view of 4 av2155 4-10mm outdoor cameras and i had to refocus cameras alone. It was really pain to do with laptop and standing ladders 5 meters high. There also was really shine and quite cold day, a lot of snow and ice in the ground so it would have been hard to get clear image even witout ladder problem. 2 of 4 cameras couldnt get full focused images, but what i have read here, it might be also arecont / lense feature. Prefocusing sounds great, but sometimes when i have to refocus camera with ladders i have to find better device than laptop pc. Maybe i will buy one Rory's mentioned netbook + good case Is 10'' screen big enought to focus cameras. Any netbook recommendation for this job? any inportant feature netbook should have for camera focusing? ps. You guys have done great job with this forum, i have read this years and got many good advices. Yours Andy
  9. We have to connect old cameras for NVR, thats why nvr... Customer likes picture of Mobotix cameras and i have also showed him software of Qnap nvr and he liked it. If i manage to do good demo system for him, he might buy plenty of nvrs and cameras. what i'm trying to find out now, is there some way stream live video direct from cameras with lower resolution than recorded video? Also i have tested qnap nvr with 2 pcs 1.3mpx cameras from remote internet pc and it worked nice. There has to be something wrong with my system, maybe my adsl modem configuration + live video streamig....dont know I tryed system with only 1 camera with D1 resolution 1fps, still really slow remote use. Program itself works fine but all videos lacking badly.
