Check both connectors on your VGA cable for a bent pin, try replacing the VGA cable or the video cable -
Looking for alternative dealers
Numb-nuts replied to EricTrueView's topic in General Digital Discussion
Not much point in recommending a supplier in the UK if you are in Alaska, is there? WHERE ARE YOU, and TRADE OR RETAIL? GOOD Trade suppliers won't supply you unless you can show you really are trade some suppliers will sell to just about anybody that has money. The latter tend to have useless A/S/Tech service and delivery and whats more their returns policy is usually non existent. Give such sheisters a WIDE berth. (No names mentioned) -
i can view in ip address but in domain i cant view
Numb-nuts replied to goldbond's topic in Computers/Networking
First thing to check is if your DNS server is updating. If not you need to check your DNS settings in the DVR for typos etc. Be Meticulous or you will be beating your head on the floor. The next thing to try if it is updating correctly is reserve the DVRs IP address and assign to the DVR's Mac address Now you can port forward to the assigned IP Check the settings on your remote device again (Phone, PC, Tablet) and be meticulous. DVRs and computers do not understand typos they just DON'T work simple, so be METICULOUS METICULOUS -
I was just grateful it wasn't a mains cable. That would have meant digging it out of the wall and reworking it and then a replaster and a re paper. The thought alone is enough to to send shivers up my spine. Anyway, the hammer in fixings worked a treat, so I am a little happier today.

I expect everything will be rolled out in China before anywhere else since it's almost all manufactured there.

how to stream live video from IPcamera to website
Numb-nuts replied to emperatour's topic in General Digital Discussion
RTSP is the way to go it is simple as there will be a default RTSP setting and you simply open the camera interface and read what it is. RTSP = Real Time Streaming Protocol Don't forget to port forward the RTSP port through your router. I always do this at installation just in case the client may later want to have this streamed to their website or some other application. -
New, super cheap no-name Ebay DVR is awesome!
Numb-nuts replied to dcarter's topic in Digital Video Recorders
Some people are easily pleased and Iwouldn't seek totake that away from them. frankly it's because they aren't professionals and haven't experienced the drama of needing a firmware download or technical assistance. Thats not their fault, but Tony has a good and valid point. Thats because he works at a very good importer who DO offer the technical backup and firmwares etc . Once you've experienced the support they offer then your realize just how little you are getting for your money with cheap-as-chips generic unbranded units. One you pay your money YOU ARE ON YOUR OWN. Fingers crossed nothing goes wrong with the unit -
Take it to pieces and see.

Need Internet based software interface
Numb-nuts replied to afreeman's topic in Computers/Networking
THAT rather depends on your DVR. The DVR has to allow the right number of user accounts. -

HD CVI SHOULD BE THE CHEAPER OF THE TWO.

I am one of the most conservative people I know, I don't like change. The most interesting feature from my point of view, is the ability to use standard baluns. I was told this earlier today, now that I've heard this twice in one day from different sources, I am interested to learn more.

That puts a completely different complection on things, I don't care to help further.

Reset password cctv 'domar solutions'
Numb-nuts replied to resetcctv's topic in General Digital Discussion
Whats your alternative, not using the DVR? I think they are being a little bit mean to charge you and to make you return it to them but then some companies only understand PROFIT. WELL THIS SEEMS TO BE AN INDICATION WHAT TO EXPECT FROM THAT PARTICULAR BARGAIN BUCKET=SHOP -

Restart the PTZ Camera, break the power and reinstate it 24vac probably. Likely this will sort it out as it sounds like a stuck iris. If Not, Next swap that camera to another channel to eliminate your DVR as the culprit MY next guess would be to check the baluns are connected properly at both ends. I'd remove them and try then with another camera briefly to eliminate them as the cause. Then I'd take the video pair and leave an open circuit and test them for open circuit and then twist one end together and test for a closed circuit. If all of these tests pass, then it may be your camera itself. Some can be repaired or replaced others cheaper ones may prove to be uneconomic to repair. In the latter case there are numerous cheap and IMHO quite good value ptzs from China on ebay, aliexpress and DHGate. With any luck it will be something really simple. The most likely possibility is a fractured solid copper conductor in the balun screw terminal. If that turns out to be the case, strip the conductor back and if possible get some wiring end-ferrules and crimp onto the stripped conductors before reinserting into the balun. End ferrules Cheap low cost crimp plier for ferrules
