FLOUREON H.264 Network DVR not accessible over network

I have been in two way radio and other industries all that use VGA screens but never experienced that. Thats never happened to me since there are not usually a herd of wild buffalo wandering past the TV sets that I have plugged into. If you simply don't like getting sore fingers from screwing them in, that I can understand but frankly its a small price to pay. Watch out for those buffalo -
No I don't think your way of thinking is out of order, just inexperienced. It may well be that you need hidden cameras but it's not the place to start. If a football hits the camera it should shake a littele abd then not be affected. If the camera is displaced or moved, the bracket id no good. We started suffering young teenagers playing up, showing off, trying to outrage residents. After a few prosecutions the teens are still around only they behave themselves. In all the time I have had my own cameras up not once has a single camera been damaged or (to the best of my knowledge) attacked or damaged. Cameras should have a solid bracket that locks in place with a screw or hex head bolt. This flimsy wimsy ones that have plastic thunb screws with two plates compressing a ball at each end are WAY TOO EASY to move to different positions and don't secure properly. Even a strong wind might reposition them.

The other thing is the physical way the plug goes in VGA has retaining screws, HDMI does not and can be pulled out easily when clients mess with cabling -
Have you edited your original post? I answered what I thought was a different thread? Anyway pleased for you it's sorted now.

It's a very rare thing to need hidden cameras where outside attack or theft is concerned, More often hidden cameras are placed in temporarily to solve an issue within the staff of a business or organisation. Sfter they capture the required evidence they are usually no longer required as overt surveillance has a strong deterrent effect

There is a very arrid sense of humour on here and we all accept that a bit of leg pulling goes on too. Don't be so bothered about it nobody really minds. -

With large format TVs this is very often an issue with HDMI but also VGA sometimes. I have never really discovered why but it's usually more often than not with older TVs 36" and above ????? The auxiliary input board has a partial failure, according to my local TV repair shop who I go to for advice with such things. your only option is the video output with BNC cable to the yellow conposite output but dont expect too much it's usually not very sharp. You could try inserting a VGA splitter amplifier but I don't know if that would work in this a case, If it does work at all, it's very often just a matter of time before it stops working. I usually insert a VGA splitter where there is distance involved. -

How can I block installer from viewing my cameras
Numb-nuts replied to socker1's topic in General Digital Discussion
Personally I think it's a good idea that he can log in remotely. He can make small changes that you wouldn't understand how to do and frankly you'd have to learn which take a long time. He can prevent a admin password loss if he retains the admin account. It protects you from curious people like staff or family that often would tinker messing up all settings which in my experience they OFTEN do given half a chance. I have a LOT of clients and only one has EVER objected to my reserving the admin account. Of course I handed over full control to him and within two weeks one of his staff 'who claimed to know all about CCTV' (liar) had screwed up all his settings the recording settings screwed up the internet setting. It cost him a significant amount to put right and he himself asked me to retain the admin account and do what I normally do. He just wanted to view and playback and back up and thats all the rest he let me do, leaving him free to get on with making his business pay. JUST TELL HIM YOU DON'T WANT HIM TO VIEW... end of discussion, if he doesn't comply get a new engineer. You can always check the log, but don't be destructive just to prove you are in control, unless you are ready to pay big bills. -

So your default ports are 80, 34567. 34599 and RTSP is 554 am I right? Okay I think I can do better than that for you on the software front. VMEye and MEye are two of the apps I use for clients that don't want to pay for apps and they are reasonably okay very functional and free... We'll speak later. -

Ask the person that sold it to you, surely they will wnt to help you. -
Some routers you have no option so you do what you can. Thompson routers are notorious and without DMZ you'd be dead in the water.

I am guessing is this a Virgin Media connection and a superhub? If you are a Virgin Media subscriber, you have a DYNAMIC IP regardless that it's worked for 6 months. They change quite infrequently if you are a domestic subscriber and only VM business account have a ststic IP available. Try checking your ports using http://yougetsignal.com note the IP address if you get open result, check the IP address is the one you've quoted if not, it's DYNAMIC -

That seems very low price, but again would be limited in functionality but then I suppose you get what you are prepared to pay for. I like to squeeze every last drop of juice out of my devices and although it's like having all the eggs in a single basket I prefer that in this case. The blue charger has a mini-usb charge port, stops charging when it's full from what I can tell (instructions say otherwise). I'd avoid the first one you linked, the ST893 (your second link) will suit you well. The HVT-2603 (skip the one with the "t" at the end of the model #) does everything the ST893 does but has a tone generator, and also an IP Scan function that's really neat - select "scan" in the menu and it quickly lists all the IP devices on your network. Don't you just love the IP scan function? It's a doozie -
£400 is an okay budget for equipment without installation. For a home user you probably got quite a good system, at least I hope so. Well now the hard work has begun wish you loads of luck, don't go falling off any ladders and injuring yourself.

If I were attending site first step would be to test for power to the cameras using a multimeter. The fact that you lost ALL cameras points to a power issue, the one element they all have in common. This is typically 12vDC or can often be 24V AC. There is very often a fuse if it's a boxed power supply with distribution board so check before and after the fuse/fuses
