  1. From Birdman Adam. “If its not too much trouble - check to see if the cables run near/along side electrical/phone/catv wiring. All of these could cause that too. I have a camera that used to run along side a phone line, when the phone rang, the picture would get running lines like that! “ Was your camera wire RG59 or Cat5.

    BNC twist on connecters

The entire cable TV industry uses compression fittings for there F connectors. They would not use them if they were not reliable.
  3. cctv 536, good post, you were spot on with your ident as a Allnet DVR card. http://www.cctvcamerapros.com/Real-Time-4-Channe-DVR-Card-p/alnet-rt4.htm http://ftp.alnetsystems.com/brochures/PDF's/VDRS.pdf
  4. Did you even bother to look for the hue and saturation controls in your DVR program to adjust the color like i told you.
  5. Ya, like Tom said, for $24 delivered you are lucky it does anything. I assume the DVR recorder you are using is of the same quality. But take a look in its menus and see if you can find hue and saturation controls to adjust the color. Some programs let you do it for each camera and others only have 1 global setting.

    Macro-video

As you found out with cheap DVR cards you pays your money and you take your chances. Your NV9200 chip is nothing i recognize either. Your only possibility is go to the manufactures site and see if they have updated software. http://www.macro-video.com/en/download.asp Notice that the mfg only states up to win XP and the people that sold it to you promise Win 7. With that said if that were my card i would just toss it in the dumpster. Look at the specs of card Recording resolution CIF: PAL: 352*288(CIF) NTSC: 320*240 (CIF) That is terrible. Also, DVR cards require there own dedicated computer to run reliably, you are shooting yourself in the foot by trying to run it in the background. My advise, either give up or start over.
  7. Were can i buy one of these needle valves for my IQ511 F-stop ring, the original is lost. I tried one from my lawn mower carburetor but it did not fit, item 12.
  8. Veetek, It is easy to convert the analog cameras to IP just use this search term on Ebay for cheap ones, “video server cctv”. Name brand servers will cost $500 to $1500. The problem is converting the IP signals back to analog, i can not think of anything that will do this..... without getting really goofy. If you are VERY network savvy you might be able to use the video server to send the information to a media server or media center. An example is an Hauppauge 1340 MediaMVP-HD Digital Media Player, and you would need one for each camera.

    Convinent store Best Camera advise

“For harsh backlighting, we use the Panasonic SuperDynamic cameras - WV-CW484 (SDIII) or WV-CW504 (SD5). Expect these to retail in the $800-$1000 range.” Soundy, have you had the opportunity to compare the CNB Blue-i against those Panasonic cameras.
  10. “Your words "We have the resources to install & provide equipment" "We have business accounts setup with most security distribution entities such as gocsc, adi, graybar, scanscource & more" and you looking for help ? kinda strange to me” What is strange about this post. He is being smart and honest. He is admitting he does not know about video surveillance and is smart enough to ask for help.

    Best Settings for CNB WCM-20VF

“The picture looks pretty washed out and the color saturation is off” The WCM-20VF is a very good camera, it even has a DC iris. Did you check to make sure that the sun shield is doing its job. Also upload a picture of when you think it looks the worst.

Motorcycle theft caught with video surveillance.

This clown did not even care enough about his stuff to even look at his monitor and focus his cameras.
  13. Hal, it sounds to me like you are on the right path. However you said you have “some” lights on 24 hours a day in your store. I can assure you with partial retail lighting the cameras will run out of light pretty quick. You will find there are many places were all you will see is a dark silhouette. I have the specs here for the 24VD camera you were thinking about and the best version the 24VF. The true day night really increases the sensitivity of the camera, for a cost penalty of $30. CNB DBM-24VF 1/3" 600TVL Indoor, true day/night, DC Iris, M13 2.8-10.5mm, .005 lux CNB DBM-24VD 1/3" 600TVL Indoor, fixed IR cut filter, DC Iris M13 2.8-10.5mm .05 lux With that said even the best camera is not magic, Soundy had touched upon camera placement with that large window as a problem in the day time. Well at night your problems will be low light and probably the biggest problem is conflicting placement of cameras from daytime to nighttime with only a few lights. You may find you camera placed above the window is looking directly in to the glare of a night light. In the end you may have to rearrange your night lights to give you optimum visibility. The remote 485 option is a tough decision, it can double or triple your dome camera cost. I can say from experience though most of your time up on the ladder will be getting the view and focus just right and if you have the high ceilings it will be a tough job to get it right. Tiny little monitors you can take up the ladder will not give you the complete field of view or let you do a fine focus. You may have to take up a walkie talkie and have someone watch the monitor and tell you how to adjust the image. If you do have your heart set on a 485 option you could look at box cameras, they seem to offer 485 at a much lower price point than domes.
  14. “I found driver for my dvr card (from china). thank you very much.” Post the link so the rest of us can try it also. Thanks.
  15. There is no simple way to test a gel cell battery ( i am assuming this is a sealed type). There is a discharge test were you put a known load on it and monitor the voltage drop over time to test its health. Another test is if the manufacturer of the device it is in gave you a voltage drop spec for a charged condition, to loss of power. This is a instantaneous reading you can do with any voltmeter, it is not a voltage drop over time just a quick test for a indication of goodness. For exit light signs electricians usually just hit the test button and watch the light for 5 or 10 seconds. If it stays fairly bright it is considered good.
  16. You have to use the entire program. Those drivers will not be recognized by any other program, or win 7 capture device. I know it runs in xp, but i can not remember if i tried in win 7. What are you trying to do.
  17. I spent many hours looking myself for the same thing, and i found nothing. For some reason cards that are to be used under win 7 are being sold with bundled dvr software that uses either non standard drivers or drivers internal to the program.

    New GV rant (just venting)

“GV flagged it as counterfeit (it IS legit!) and had the ad pulled and the account suspended. “ What happened with his Ebay account, did he get it reinstated.
  19. “I`m not set hard on the Aracont...my target is: - arround 2MP - very good night mode without ir - h.263 mode - saving to storage or nas - motion detection onboard with more than three zones - around $ 600,-” I do not think you have realistic expectations. With no IR lighting you need a very sensitive IP camera and i am not sure if you can buy one at any price. You might find something in a analog camera but i am not sure about having built in motion detection and recording. To get the price down you need some kind of artifical lighting so a reasonably priced camera can be used. For the camera you tried that seemed to have a different focus in the day and night time, usually that is a issue of a lens that is not IR rated and has a different focus at day and night times. Or you just do not have enough of any light at night and can not see a good image.

    Camera quality, please explain

There are many reasons why the video could be so bad. 7 Poor placement of camera. 6 Bad lighting. 5 Wrong camera lens covering to much area. 4 Camera is low resolution. 3 Camera out of focus. 2 Recorder is low resolution. And the number 1 reason for poor video quality, ... the owner of the system is a stupid cheap bastard!

  23. Becci Lu, do you have windows WDM drivers for your HE1408 DVR card. And a download link for the manual.
  24. Becci Lu, instead of sneaking in here like a thief in the night. Why don’t you just admit you work for Heivision and add your company name to your info and help out were needed.
