Good underwater color bullet camera
MiamiBeachBum replied to MiamiBeachBum's topic in Security Cameras
Rory, You said I would be better off with a true day/night camera.. Is the one in the link I posted not a "true day/night"... This is from the description... Displays brilliant Sharp color by day, and when all the lights go out, the built-in sensor auto switches the sensor to activate the black and white camera and deploy the infrared illuminators (all 12) when necessary... BTW this camera is going to be used inside an inground swimming pool.. Just thought it would be cool to be able to see under the water in the pool as part of a geovision system. -

I think I'm going to go with these cameras.. What do you guys think? http://www.mjelectronics.com/pages/micro/cdn12.html -
I'm looking for suggestions for an underwater color bullet style camera for a reasonable price. Most of the underwater bullets that I've seen have been black and white. Any suggestions? Another question.. The B/W underwater one that I've seen has IR lights.. Do you think these would work underwater? Here is the link to the Black and White one and a Color one I found.. Let me know what you guys think.. Thanks http://www.supercircuits.com/store/prodinfo.asp?number=PC81UW&variation=&aitem=1&mitem=1 [/url]http://www.spyhiddencamera.com/products/28/ax808c.htm

I'm installing a cyberdome PTZ that will run off a geovision card.. It's my understanding that I can use UTP wiring or coaxial. Running either wire is just as easy for me. What is the advantage and disadvantage of each? Thanks

pirate Geovision Card. Who can tell one?
MiamiBeachBum replied to MiamiBeachBum's topic in Geovision
I posted some pictures.. http://photos.yahoo.com/rayslack there is a geovision sticker above the pins.. Where I believe there should be an engraved geo number.. I haven't tried to remove the sticker.. I emailed geo the pictures last week but haven't heard back from them. As for the 10,000 reward... I'm sure they have never or would never pay it.. Too many hoops to jump through and loopholes for them to get out of it. I did get remove the sticker and there is nothing printed on the card below it. -
I've bought a geovision GV600-16 that I think may be a pirate card. Is their anyone here that I could send a couple of pictures through email that may be able to tell me if it's bogus? I looked at the pictures of the pirate cards on geo's site but that didn't help much. I couldn't post the pictures since I have nowhere to post them. Thanks

question on Kalatel cyberdome housings
MiamiBeachBum replied to MiamiBeachBum's topic in Security Cameras
So that mean's I would have to buy both of those to control the camera with geovision? Crap.. That's a extra $400. -
So if I have a 30fps card (gv-600) and a gigabit network with no traffic I can see realtime 480fps over the house's network without the Realtime card?

question on Kalatel cyberdome housings

Thanks Rory ; ) -
I'm thinking about getting a slow 30fps card for 16 cameras and a realtime 480fps Card. Since of the 16 cameras there should only be 3-4 camera recording at once. My question is: does this realtime viewing with the card of 480fps work when viewing the cameras over the internet? or over a network? Most of the viewing of the cameras will be done by laptops or computers on the home's network. (located in the home). Will these images be at 480fps with the real time card?

I just bought a cyberdome camera and need to get a housing.. Couple of questions: 1. Is there a difference in terms of quality and erase of wiring or use between the coaxail and the UTP interfaces? 2. The camera is located in Miami Florida. It will be mounted outside. So, it's hot most of the time. Do you guys think I need to get the housing with the heater/fan? 3. What do you guys think about these prices? (see link below) Can anyone here beat them? I'm thinking about the 7-inch pendant housing, coax interface, with heater and fan. Also an install question. Do you need a keypad for the cyberdome or just control it from Geovision? I found this next to PTZ's supported by Geo. Kalatel Dome *use KTD-312 and KTD-410 Converter as RS232 to 422 converter Does this mean I don't use the GV-net? Thanks http://www.cctvtime.com/shopdisplayproducts.asp?id=877&cat=Cyber+Dome+Housings

Welcome Robert, I'm sure that you will be a great contributor here. You have answered many questions of mine over the years on usenet's groups. Thanks ; )

Can you control a pelco PTZ from the geovision software without using a joystick ? Basically can you control the zoom and pan from the web interface of geo? Thanks

Can always count on you for an answer... THanks That's what I thought..

It looks like one may have BNC connectors and the other has 1 port that goes to all the connectors? is that correct? can either be used? Thanks
