Camara problems? (lots of Lines in the pictures from Cams}
Johnnyseconal posted a topic in Security Cameras
I have had problems with some of my Camaras The Dvr is made by Q-see The 8 camaras were bought from ApexCCTV Anyways some of my camara when watching on my Monitor at night times shows many LINES going across the picture(very annoying watching your driveway and seeing lines up and down the screen} It happens on 3 out of the 8 camara(3 different nite camaras} Anyways I replace the Male Female plug from the Camara too the cable that goes to the power supply and everything works fine untill the next day or two or three and the lines come back. Wondering maybe its Best to buy a better male female Plug? Or is the a silicone I can use? Any ideas?I am kindaaaa lost lol....thanks JT -

I have a 16 camara power supply and useing 8 camaras I switched connections on the power supply with each camara thats giving me the problems I have 3 exact Dome camaras with nitevision and only 1 is giving me the problem. As for the other 2 camaras it seems that those lose Video for whatever reason until I disconnect the Camara and the Male Female connector and and just connect it and video comes back on(very annoying happens too offen} But the outside Dome Camara has black lines coming from the top too the bottom of the screen{Not a very clear picture} Its amazing just connecting a Newer Male female make the Video soooo much better until a few days(Does not last long. Just wonding would it make any differance to Buy a Better Male Female connector or are they all the same? I remember someone telling me to put Silicone in my Cable TV connector so no Moisture would get in a ruin my TV picture,,,,wondering if that would help with the problem I am having?(hate too put silicone into something that might not work}.......Thanks for your time JT -
I have a really cool 8 camara with a Q-see Dvr running..... Anywaysssss I think its Legal in my area to have a Microphone with my security setup. I bought a Microphone package(100 feet of Cable,Very slim Mic and power supply plug} My question as I have been reading ,If i use this Mic.It will pick up all sorts of outdoor noise. Well I hooked the Mic up to my outside deck When I try to listen to the cars that drive by on my sercurity cams. It seems that there is lots of wind and local noise from houses near by.I put a little foam on the mic to get rid of the wind,,,,,butttt My problem is when I turn up my speakers to hear the Cars that drive by,I gets lots of Echo from my speakers where I have to leave them on very low and I can hardly hear the cars that drive by. I was thinking about a Computer Mic but I think that will also give me echo when speakers are turned up high. I know these Mics picks up everything like when I am listening to my Tv or closeing my door. Is there a fix for me?Or is there another Mic i can get to solve this problem? What about if I buy another outdoor security cam with a Built in Mic????Would that help???? Its just very annoying to be able to hookup my mic to my Dvr and not able to use it..Maybe I need to buy better computer speakers???Just very annoying to turn the speakers to High and getting Loud Hummmmmm......Thanks to alllll...........JS

Outdoor Microphone Questions???
Johnnyseconal replied to Johnnyseconal's topic in Installation Help and Accessories
Its not bad the Hum when the computer speakers are on low but then again you will not hear the cars lol. But if I turn my computer speakers very high the hum gets,,,, hum,hummm,hummmmm,hummmmmmmmmmmm Maybe its the speakers? One person wrote this on the Internet let me paste it....Thanks JT Turn any mic way, way up and you may hear the rumble from your home's fridge motor, furnace, AC, cars on distant roads, etc (a general low frequency rumble). Also, the more you turn it up the more "line noise" you hear. Line noise sounds like static and can become so loud that it drowns out the distant noise you want to hear. WARNING: Opening a door or speaking anywhere near the mic with the volume cranked up will blow the headphones right off your head and probably ruin your hearing too. Please note that most security DVR systems do NOT have an audio gain control or volume knob. Audio gain in a security system might be useful to folks who complain that a certain mic only recorded things a few feet away! -
Outdoor Microphone Questions???
Johnnyseconal replied to Johnnyseconal's topic in Installation Help and Accessories
It seems that when I move my speakers aways I will still get a loud Hum when I turn my speakers ways up. I can hear the Hum from another computer states aways when checking to see if its me or the Mic. As a last resort Would I still get the Hummmm if I buy a New Outdoor cam with a built in Mic??? Thanks for your time..Unless someone knows a better solution lol..........JT
