Recommend a RG59 Stripping Tool
nDAlk90 replied to vmgtlexi's topic in Installation Help and Accessories
This is the one I use and I love it. Works great and makes a very accurate cut. Paladin Model #1116 http://paladin-tools.com/view_tool.php?id=541&parent_id=292 http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000WEPE1Y -
I agree! The Deck cam looks the best.

I think Pelco-D is one of the most popular protocols. Don't know why this is and not sure if one baud rate and protocol is better then another. Can anyone explain to us

Teltonika Telemarketer is Relentless

If the caller is from an international country wouldn't the recipient of the call have to pay the bill? Maybe this is why they are calling. They want you to stay on the line. -
Do you guys protect the external wiring on the house?
nDAlk90 replied to vince32837's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
I would clean that up... Not only is it unsightly but it provides no security the way it is now. Something like this: http://linesafe.net/aboutlinesafe.html -
Do they even have a phone number for customer service?

Your adding cameras inside the home? I think that a dome camera would not look so good in a home unless you want it to be visible. I think a camera like this would blend in much nicer to any home decor. The camera is behind the glass/plastic and the cover can be white, silver, etc. http://www.channelvision.com/index.php/NEW-Products/Single-Gang-Box-Hi-Resolution-Color-Camera-6204-212/flypage.tpl.html

Minimizing coaxial cables going to dvr
nDAlk90 replied to homersabile's topic in Installation Help and Accessories
I agree... This is probably what I would do in my building. Analog cameras are much cheaper then IP at this time and getting a good shot indoors in a well light environment (hallway) doesn't require a top of the line camera. -
Finally found 264 player for Swann

Minimizing coaxial cables going to dvr

Run a Cat5e cable to every floor. Each Cat5 can support 4 cameras when you use baluns. -
Hello; Just saw some 960H DVR's for sale. Has anyone tried them yet? Thanks.

So what do you think the future of analog cctv will be? 960H DVR?

Can I use RG6 cables with RG59 connectors?
nDAlk90 replied to SecurityNub's topic in Security Cameras
From my experience RG6 and RG59 are two different cables. RG59 is best for CCTV. RG6 best for cable tv's digital signals. RG6 = Best for digital signals. RG59 = Best for analogue signals. -
Trying to replace time lapse vcrs with dvd recorders
nDAlk90 replied to md102090's topic in General Analog CCTV Discussion
People start thinking about cctv, security, alarms, etc. when something bad happens. When someone gets hurt or something bad happens they might change their mind. -
He might have made up the DVR brand name because it has none.

Any recommendations for in wall structured wiring cabinets?

Why cant you send a 2048x1536 over a BNC? Sure, you could use that... do you really WANT to run VGA cables between your camera and DVR? I mean, you could just use analog component video too, and get up to 1080p... heck, my old 21" Sony monitor did 2048x1536 over VGA cables... but the cost and logistics of cabling that will be a nightmare... AND either way, you'd have to convince both camera and DVR manufacturers that it's a viable way to go. Don't know if you could sell them on the idea of a camera with an HD-15 connector, or three BNCs...
