Yes they are temp controlled housings. I havent had any issues with these cams and they have been mounted since 2012. I used the 2 different because the rear of the church has no lighting and the ir cams will pick up a good image at night. The box cams need light to see. I will try to post some of my newer projects

I have been all over the web including the website for TN gov concerning if I need a license to install cctv in Memphis, TN. I cannot get a answer. I guess I could call to find out. Does anyone know or can help me find out. I am only installing but not monitoring like an alarm company

Heys guys. In need a little help. I will be doing a project on a church. I will be doing two varifocal 2.8-12mm bullet cams and two ptz cams. With the ptz I will be using cat5 and rg59 on the bullet cams. Will this cause a problem? Any suggestions on which baluns to use? I will be using a ptz controller in conjunction with the dvr. Rs485 has positive negative right? Do these go into the controller and the dvr? Will they be able to ptz the cams remotely?

Hello all. Hope everyone had a Happy New Year!! I did my last cctv job and didnt really like the bnc crimp on connectors I used. I had to replace alot of them because the connection was not crimped tight enough. Could have simply been the crimp tool I was using that I picked up from the local home depot. It did a decent job for the most part. Im moving up to the bnc compression connectors. From what I researched, these are the best connectors that you can use with coax. I know they cost more though. How many of you use rg59 siamese with compression bnc? Just curious. In the future I will try a job or two using cat5 and baluns. Just dont want to use them on 12v cams. I will use them on 24v cams

Hey guys. I have a client that wants a 6 camera setup in their home. She wants the DVR to be located in the den area hooked to a monitor. She also wants to view the feed in her bedroom and upstairs in the media room. My question is how do I split the signal to show on all 3 monitors or tv? The monitor or tv in the den area, i will probably use the vga out. for the other two rooms I guess I will have to go with the bnc output. Please help!!!

I use wireless A/V transmitter/receivers to feed the output to various locations all over the house. I use one to send a signal from a camera in the garage to the DVR. There are many to choose from depending on your budget and the resired results. They are mainly used to send TV, DVD, etc. A/V as most reviews will show this in addition to DVR signal. can u send me links of some products that do this

the dvr is an entry level so it doesnt have an hdmi out. i really wish there was an easy way to do this. is there any option out there where if they want to control the dvr in the other two rooms? i know a little about ir sensors

Ok I was just researching video amplifiers. So this will ensure when I split the signal coming from the back of the dvr, that it will not be weak or distorted when it reaches the other tv's. Thanks i am on the right track now. Its a two story house and the attic is not accessible so now I will have to figure out the best ways to run wires without any being exposed. Thanks so much

That 3.5 screen may be a little tough to see. I had a hard time seeing my 7"

it really did a good job. working with varifocal cameras its almost impossible to work without one

well i was using a sylvania 7" battery powered tv up until a few days ago when it stopped working. i will probably try a 9" portable dvd player. they are only about $50 these days. here is a pic of the one ive been using for 3 yrs

i would try resetting the belkin router. there should be a small pinhole on the back of the router. press it in for 5 secs.wait for it to reboot, in the mean time, restart your pc. from ur pc command prompt type ip config and make sure ur default gateway is correct.give your dvr a static ip address. be sure your port forwarding ports are correct.hope this helps

I'm back. I put cctv installation to the back of my things to do and money to make about 6 months ago. Well I have decided that this is something that I love and have a true passion for. I did a couple projects and this industry has my name all over it. I own a computer repair shop and never got around to fully offering and installing cctv systems. I believe the only reason why I stopped for a minute was because of the labor associated with running the wires. I found a guy that will do all of my wiring work so all I will have to do is come later to install cameras and configure the dvr. Im glad to be back and will seek the help from the professionals here!! I have my eyes on the Dahua dvr's. They seem super easy to configure.

Hey guys. Im still kinda a rookie when it comes to installing cctv but I think I did a pretty good job on my last install which was at my local church. I have a client that wants a system installed on her home. Its a 2 story home and I will go this week to check out the layout. Never did a 2 story home before, I wonder will this cause me any problems or will it actually be easier since sometimes 2 story homes have more open access in the attics. Can anyone shed some light? Im going to do the job regardless. I found 2 local electricians that agreed to sub out the wiring work if I didnt feel like messing with. I wonder how much more labor should I charge?
