The Samsung SDE-3000 dvr seems to fit me very well except the fact that it is 4 channel. Does anyone have any suggestions on a spec comparable PC based system that would have expansion room for up to 16 cameras? A short list of important specs are 600 TLS 30 LED's for night vision Outdoor water proof cameras Remote viewing of all cameras simultaneously through a web browser 74 degree viewing angle with each camera Power through the cable The ability to record and have motion marker points automatically placed throughout the video for searching Here are the specs of this samsung system, sorry for the long quote but I don't believe I can post links here. Ok ... I take it that apparently there isn't anything that you can build yourself comparably for less than $1000? If so, to me that isn't worth the time and labor of building it yourself, ordering the Samsung now and I guess I'll just order more of the 4 channels as the need arises.
