  1. One last note on all this. All ways have the fire alarm wire run as close to the power supply that will feed the lock. Fire wire is supervised and modules. lock power is not.

can you give me a few chicken scraches to show me what you mean?
  4. Does any one have a desent wireing diagram on how to wire up a door operator to the ACS. Inside Button needs to unlock and open door at all times. Out side button needs to only work if door is unlockt or with a valid card read. My problem is the buttons are wireles for inside and out side buttons and are on same freak. and I may not be able to get anywire to door operator. The other door I can get to the inside button only with wire, pretty sure i can manage that one, with some rellays at the operator. Thanks Paul

    What is your opinion.

ChrisH I am with you, but I am looking to hear a more technical or a electrical theory. Hopefully we can hear from an electrical engin. I am looking for facts. I cant change some ones mind of doing things with out, why it should not be done that way. Other then it looks good. Thanks you guys for your opinions. Hopefully we can all learn some thing here. A good debate is how we all get a higher learning if we keep an open mind. good forums. Looking foward to hear some more comments. thanks

    What is your opinion.

MMM! could it colapse the field and lend it self to be more seseptable to interference?? were are talking about 12vdc and 24vdc. Is not a card reader a winding of tightly wound coper that generates an electrical magnectic field? to read a card? Is not a motor a tightly wound copper?? Im not so sure you guys are correct. I see it done all the time and im trying to go with it but im having a hard time with it. I want some one here to really try to turn me on this. If you think deaply in to this you may find its not such a good idea. Am I wrogh???? Thanks for the input guys. Paul
  7. I have dealt with AMAG.S2.Lenel.Brivo.northen.and a few others.Im 58 and still love this kinda of work. I have been in this field since 3/13/81 But I have started with a new company, and theres only 3 of us that do ACS. And these other guys like to dress theire wires inside of panels by twisting them with a drill. All of the pairs contact, lock power ,rex so each pair is twisted.and terminated at the panel. Yes It looks Good. Can anyone tell me why this is not a good idea, Any thoughts?? Opinion any one?? Thanks

    Bidding cctv jobs

Cost of equipment.add 10% for handdling on your end. How long does it take you to install nvr or dvr and program??? 1hour? 2 hours.@$00. Just remember your hourly wage needs to include your gas and any other expences you incur to keep your bussines open. There is a bit more but im assuming your hip to that.
  9. Wow how did they ever get away with running there own wire in elev shaft??? By law these days all travelers must have a 10% of unused conductors. Try changing the NVT first or Boulum, then if your sure its the cat5, change over to the traveler wires. PROBLEM SOLVD

    AMAG

I have 2 AMAG panels 4 door controlers. one I/O board and One rs232 card.
  12. If you are still having problems with this reader and hope its a HID. Run your drain from card reader to battery neg at the panel. And or the purple wire witch is ground reference to battery at the panel neg. this should clear up any randoms reads from data.
