  1. Have you looked at QCam Pro? I'm not positive, but I think it might do what you want.
  2. I'm using it at home, recording to a PC for backup. It's been working so well I'm thinking of turning off the PC.
  3. I'd like to know if they added the function to turn off the IR in night mode.
  4. Thanks for the video. I would have thought there might have been some condensation after the dish washer test. Was the test done with hot water? Thankyou again for taking the time to make the video.
  5. How about the Axis P8221? It's not USB, it's Ethernet. http://www.axis.com/en/products/cam_p8221/index.htm
  6. I think I've been using Vitamin D with my cameras since 2011, but the lack of updates and some features has made me start looking at other software. This weekend I noticed that http://www.vitamindinc.com redirects to http://www.sighthoundlabs.com. Has anyone here tried the beta?
  7. I think it might be this. rtsp://IPADDRESS:7070/ Kenny
  8. I think right now the software records one video stream from the camera full time and makes bookmarks based on the rules you have setup. I like the idea of doing the processing/motion detection on D1 stream, and then recording the higher resolution stream. Any idea how Sighthound/Vitamin D and Axxon Next compare when it comes to CPU usage?
  9. I don't have an answer, but I am interested in what you find out.
  10. Have you tried Security Spy? http://www.bensoftware.com/securityspy/
  11. I wish that the developers of VitaminD would update the software to work with cameras that have resolutions higher than 1280 x 1024. It's great software, but hasn't really seen any major updates in ages. SecuritySpy http://www.bensoftware.com/securityspy/ is another choice for Mac OSX software.
  12. Welcome to the forum! Can you tell us what model Mac Mini you have? Is it a dual core or quad core? I don't think there is a version of Blue Iris that runs natively on the Mac, will you be using bootcamp with a Windows partition? Will you be using the internal drive or an external drive for the camera recordings?
  13. +1 for IP Camera Viewer Pro by Robert Chou. It works great and the app is updated regularly to support new cameras.
  14. I'm guessing that the lower cost comes from the fixed lens and the camera being based on the M30 platform instead of the P33 platform.
  15. I think the pigtail is for 12v, if you don't want to use POE.
  16. Any chance the external is a WD green drive? I had problems with the video freezing on my system with the green drives, moved to WD reds and the problem went away.
  17. Are you recording to the SSD or the WD external?
  18. I don't think the D12 and D14 modules are interchangeable, the cable connections are different.
  19. If I do a port scan of my Dahua camera it shows port 23 is open for telnet. Should that port be open? How would you telnet into the camera on a Mac, I'm interested in seeing if the back door posted above works?
  20. You might want to check out the Axis P3384-VE also.
  21. I'd like to know if you find out what the answer is.
  22. I can hear the fan from inside the house. I don't even have to be right next to the wall, I can be 8 ft away sitting on a sofa and still hear it. My walls aren't brick though, they are standard 2 x 4 construction. What kind of computer will your client use to acces the cameras, Mac or PC? The only reason I ask is because Microsoft Silverlight for the Mac is kind of buggy. When the plug in crashes the camera web pages will partially load, but they will have a plug in failure message displayed on the page where the video stream and settings tabs would be. You're going to have to make a pretty large hole in that brick to fit the pigtails for the Ethernet, analog video out, and the alarm inputs and outputs. You might want to consider mounting a weather proof junction box to the brick first and then mount the camera over the box. Does your customer have these cameras already? Have you had a chance to get one and test it out yet? If not, you might want to consider a different camera for this install. I have decided to replace my Samsung SNV-5080R with an Axis P3364-VE. Hope this helps, Kenny
  23. I bought the Samsung SNV-5080R because on paper the specs look great. Here are my three issues with it. The camera has a huge pigtail of wire and connectors that come out of the camera body making installation a pain. You have to cut a large hole behind the camera to accommodate the cables or mount the housing on a two gang bell box which makes the camera conspicuous. You have to install Microsofts Silverlight on your computer in order to access the camera via web browser. The fan inside the camera is too loud, you can easily hear it from 8 feet away. I'm going to replace my Samsung SNV-5080R with another camera, haven't decided on what yet.
  24. http://www.axis.com/techsup/faq/index.php/index_axis.php?action=artikel&cat=105&id=115497&artlang=en&search= I think you are on track with the problem being MJPEG.
