Idiot Needing Help with Adding Hard Drive
t3chsupp0rt replied to DominoPublicity's topic in Digital Video Recorders
Just noticed this myself, but near the 'apply' button the window shows you what drive is active and how much space is free on that drive, so useful when you want to confirm which drive is writing video currently and how long till it's full. -
Idiot Needing Help with Adding Hard Drive
t3chsupp0rt replied to DominoPublicity's topic in Digital Video Recorders
Found something for visual confirmation on the drive status. Once you have installed the new HD, when you boot up the DVR make sure you check the 'info' tab and see if your new drive is detected and has all free space remaining. Then just allow the initial drive to fill up and your new drive will be next to write video. Enjoy Is info is on page 64/89 -
Idiot Needing Help with Adding Hard Drive
t3chsupp0rt replied to DominoPublicity's topic in Digital Video Recorders
Hello, Yes usually DVR's will detect the new HDD and begin writing video to the drive once the initial drive has filled up. You should not have to do much programming in the DVR at all. I'll try to find conformation from their website. and yes absolutely shutdown the DVR before adding the HD -

Need advise on security of network CCTV
t3chsupp0rt replied to iantao99's topic in Computers/Networking
Hello, not sure if your still looking for an answer but.. The DVR make, model and cameras aren't really important in your question but really how those DVR's are being secured? Is it using active x, java, ssl etc? is your DVR going to be on the Local Network (internally accessed via wireless connection or hardwire) or remotely accessible? -

" title="Applause" /> yes their font is very recognizable. It is an ICRealtime Flex 8Ch D30fps unit. The pictures on this DVR are really amazing daytime and night! Rory, do you know a dealer in the NY area where I could get a 4ch DVR from. One like this brand. If so can you pm me a contact you might have, thanks -

Port Forwarding Fails

Here is the status tab (red) I was talking about. Your Internet Address should be your outside(PUBLIC,WAN) IP if you see an internal IP like shown in Green, this is the IP your comcast modem(in blue) is giving the Linksys. simply log into that comcast modem (IP circled in blue, yours will be different than shown but you get the idea.) and forward your DVR's ports to the IP circled in Green. again yours will be different. now once your port forwarding is done, have someone check it for you. or you can use, www.canyouseeme.org to check if ports are open hope this helps you out. enjoy. -
This is most likely a DVR feature when using email alerts. Certain firmwares will send just a email "health test" every hour to let you know the feature is working properly. Call the dealer or technical support for the DVR I am willing to bet they have a recent firmware that will not send health test's hourly. Just when your event(motion, alarm hd error etc.) is triggered.

Have you tried the companies technical support? They will usually guide you through a few mouse clicks and back into the menu. After pulling the battery did you try the default password again? Also try pulling the battery again and the try 0000 for the password?

In the linksys router click on the 'status' tab. Is your "WAN Internet IP" the same one you used from the remote location? Or is it showing you another internal address..this internal address would be the IP your comcast modem is giving the Linksys. Your next step will then be to log into the comcast gateway and forward the same ports to the IP the comcast is giving your router. (i.e. The internet wan IP in the status tab) Hope that helps let us know -
