Hello We install 8 units of Pinetron PDR-XM4016 DVR in an apartment. Now we have headache because one issue that has been happening for all units: the DVR are often freeze and displays a message "WAIT FOR DISK REPAIR". One this issue happens, we cannot control the DVR at all. Once DVR is freeze due to this issue, we have to solve it by: - dismantle the HDD and format it by using a PC - reset the DVR to factory default We have tried to test replace some type of HDD, such as WD Green 2TB, Seagate Barracuda 2TB, Seagate SV-35 2TB, to see if this problem can be solved. However, the situation was not changed. I've contacted the manufacturer but no feedback (we have stopped Pinetron for 2 years ago). Customer blamed us a lot but we don't know how to answer them Anyone has experience about this problem, please help me! Thank you!

Thanks, Fa chris! I've emailed to Genetec but they have not answered yet. Regarding NVR, I mean embedded NVR but not PC-based server. Can I use Webgate NVR with Genetec?

Thanks for Soundy's suggestion for Vigil but it seems not feasible for our project in non-technical aspects. Who are expertise of Genetec stuff can help me? More question! Can I combine Genetec with other manufacturer's NVR?

Hi Soundy, It seems that Vigil software is just proprietary for 3XLogic hardware, am I right? We need software that work with TRUEN IP camera.

We want a system can do roughly things : - Operator will monitor video on monitors with e-map. - If someone access the door, system will pop up image that overlay card holder's information. - In case of a guest who does not have card but operator grant him to access door, he/she will force to open door. - when admin search past event of door access door, he/she can see the image. - System can configured as server/ client based

Hello everyone! I would like to getting your advice on integrating IP camera with access control system. I am thinking using TRUEN as IP camera, Vertx as access controller and Genetec as management software. But I am empty mind about Genetec and I think it is also quite expensive. This project is retrofit for a university. Is there anybody experiencing about this. Appreciate your reply!

Hi Tomcctv Thank you for response. In my application, I don't need the complete DVR, just a board installed in wall mount cabinet. Also, the custom duties in our country is too high for a complete DVR (40%) that leading the cost so high.

Agree with Rory, AVTECH cannot compare with Dahua on reliability and playback quality.

You must have mail server that supports SMTP to receive capture image once event happens. Gmail, Yahoo Mail do not support SMTP.

Cable selection is dependent on what application you're building. It seems that you do your camera installation by yourself and I assume that is simple application. So you can use RG59 siamese cable which combines video & dc power transmission in one cable.
