Didn't see a question regarding HDD lifetime/expectancy....... Is it just me or has hard drives lease on life got reduced BIG time... Experiencing issues especialy with HIKvision dvr's and NVR's were the hdd either disconnects or just stops working within a year and even less..... Using sata cables with the metal clip to secure them properly.. Using SV hdd's 1,2,3,4 TB Seagate..... Thinking of using Westerndigital but not sure..(had 3 melting the power connector green drive's though) Some input and ideas would be greatly appreciated

1:Geovision original OEM is the muts NUTS...... their software is build to give you the best quality via the net ..i haven't come accross software /hardware that works beter. In South Africa its quite pricey but worth the money spend. 2:Get a full Intell mother board with processor i5 is cool or bit lower ..I think you guy's would only have PCI-e GV cards available , so make sure the motherboard spacing is right between were the graphics is going and the display card.(bulky display card) 3: proper grapichs card Very Important 4:Make sure you get SURVAILANCE HDD's .... Seagate :stxx00xxx00sv OR Hitachi Cinema view. Normal one's will do but don't last long. AND VERY IMPORTANT MAKE SURE YOU BUY ORIGINAL GEOVISION PRODUCTS . There is a lot of pirate stuff out there that make GV look bad because of piracy. Geovisioncctv.co.uk.....Geovisionsa.co.za for more info

Dude did you come right with the card? you dont have a full view of it but studying make me think its a Alnet 4ch 30fps card...they normaly need a dongle to make them work. Go check it out at www.alnet.com or do a google search under Alnet. The 4 swithes is your video terminators and the yellow plug is for a video output to a monitor
