Do you seek out the cameras just because?

I know when I was in Vegas last summer, the one lounge over looking the casino where I stayed had like 50 cameras within a 100 sq ft space in the ceiling.

Where do you buy your cameras?

Most of the ones I install come from ADI.

What Box cameras are you using?

The company I work for uses mostly Bosch products as far as cameras go. We were gonna switch to GE but found that Bosch has better picture. Honeywell is just as good but a little more pricey.

    Cat5 vs RG59 video quality

From my experience, I've had better luck with RJ59 on longer runs as far as picture quality goes. I maintain cameras at a hospital and found that the cat5 runs on tranceivers are more likely to pick up interference but the advantage is having to run less cables on a long run. I've used ground loop isolators to solve the interference problem.

    Wired Security Alarm System Recommendation

I mainly deal with the Honeywell systems and they're not too hard to program with an alpha keypad once you're used to them. The only thing on those I'm not used to is doing custom descriptors on the zones unless I use a laptop. I've serviced a few DSCs but not enough to get used to the programing.

    Hi from Pa

Hi, I've been lurking on here for some time now and decided to sign up. Anyhow I've been installing and servicing CCTV systems for 8yrs now along with burg and fire alarm systems. We mostly deal with Bosch and Honeywell (aka Silent Witness) products along with GE DVRs. This place seems to have some good info posted here. Figured I could help out anyone with issues or questions on CCTV systems. Have a good day.
  9. You could take a duel input monitor and patch a DVR to each input but you'd have to switch between inputs A and B manually to view the DVR you want. That would work for being able to view certain recordings at full screen at least. I do agree more on the 32ch DVR if you want to see it all live at the same time.
