I've just had the same issue and believe it to be a bad signal from one of the cameras, looking in the logs there was mulitiple video loss logs from the same channel prior to the reboots. Check fans on the PSU and device are working correctly and run the drives thru a checking utility like SpinRite to make sure the drives are not bad.

Did you have any luck with this, I have the same problem also. I have tried removing the cmos battery and changing the hard drive but this does not seem to reset the admin password.

I have the same problem, different DVR but it installs the same cab file you mentioned. I have tried from 2 different PCs, Windows 7 and XP and not able to get any images, let me know if you managed to solve this. I wonder if there is an update to the firmware that might fix this. I have tried both methods to view, cab installed via browser and also downloading the remote view software, both connect ok but no images
