Need help with a massive project....

If you are going wireless you really need to go with good wireless gear and get a camera that is outputting BNC and convert this to wireless. However I don't think you will accomplish to much with 100$ a camera. Where are you located?

streaming to multiple smart tv from NVR

What outputs does your NVR have if any? You could throw a raspberry pi on each TV and just view over the LAN

IR Sensor alarm connected to a DVR

First question would be does your DVR even support alarm input and output?

    Problem with CCTV screen image

If you have tried different cables and still get the same problem, it may be an image sensor problem.

What do i need for this camera?

You need to get yourself a BNC connector and a male power connector, I would suggest if you don't know what these are or how to terminate cables get yourself a premade roll. http://www.tigerdirect.ca/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=6391800&CatId=5204 To connect it to your computer you need yourself a DVR capture card.
  6. I have walked away from many jobs over customers that want to argue with me over what I am telling them, and try and tell me I am wrong, I rather lose the sale then beat my head against the wall trying to make you believe I know what I am talking about. If you want to be the type of customer that wants to challenge me on everything because you think you know it then by all means do it yourself. I also hate the type of customer where I show up and they think free consultation means I start setting up their system and making connections for free. I have lately seen so many customers that want the pro results at the DIYer price.

    Elevator camera

http://www.cctvcamerapros.com/Elevator-Camera-CCTV-p/elt-l1350.htm Not the best camera but the wireless aspect could save a lot of cabling hassles. I would go with a vandal dome cover, wedge shape probably, I think Pelco makes one.

Sadly i need to make nanny cams..

They also have hidden cameras that look like clocks, mirrors, and motion detectors used by alarm systems. May want to look into some of those. I know Axis makes a great camera that would fit perfectly into a knot in the wood, but then I realized you have an analog system, thus Axis would not work.
  9. It usually helps if you mention what type of camera you are trying to use.

Home Server + CCTV + Media Centre - is it possible?

SSD's have a read/write cycle limit on them, and degrade over time with use, so a 128GB drive acting as a recording drive will not last you very long. also SSD is not written to in the same fashion as a regular hard drive, there is a complex algorithm that is used when writing to SSD, which sees data being moved around and cleaned up and such to help prolong the life of the drive. I would say use SATA hard drives for your recording, possibly do a RAID configuration. You will find SSD will not give you the performance you think it will.

How about you tell us what you have tried? Have you set the DVR with a static IP? Have you figured out what your external IP address is? Have you mapped a DDNS to your external IP? Have you tested remote access on the local LAN to see if it works? Are you getting a popup or an error when trying to access from your smartphone? Are you using an app on your smartphone or just trying to view it through a web browser on your smart phone? There is more to it then just someone telling you how to do it, we need to know about your network setup and what steps you have tried and any errors you may be getting.
  12. Thanx I understand how to connect that cable now. (I think) Will the video quality be the same taking from that BNC port to the HDMI in on the TV compared to a DVR with HDMI out? Is there sound on the BNC video out? If not that will still leave me short on sound with my annoying TV! I could perhaps put up with no sound on the TV playback as long as I can network the DVR and access it via my PC! NO! You can only get out what the machine puts out. So using the BNC video out is the least successful way (but valid nonetheless). If you use the VGA out to scart I dunno, haven't tried it but can't be worse that wat you were proposing. If you want valid HDMI output at 720p or 1080p then you would have to replace the dvr with one that has HDMI out. There is one other way, you could view the DVR over your LAN and output to your computer screen? It is a compromise but the added cost of upgrading either your DVR or TV might make you consider this before spending heaps on upgrades. Drives you mad all these decisions, bet you thought it would be easy? Now you know. Should have clarified, my solution is not giving you a true HDMI picture, rather it is just allowing you to convert your BNC video out to HDMI, which is not the same as the DVR having HDMI out and connecting it to the HDMI port on your TV.
  13. Good luck powering all that gear without spending a small fortune on the equipment to keep it powered, why not get a diesel generator and a huge fuel tank?

    700TVL Dome cameras

Remote viewing is often throttled back as most connections can not handle the full stream, so it is down scaled and the FPS slowed, that is why it does not look as good as viewing locally.

ip cam footage in live view getting delayed

This is either a framerate problem or your network speed is not enough to handle the traffic.

    Is There Such a Thing...

I agree avoiding extra connections is always good, and as far as it looking good as long as the closed up junction looks good you are good to go Personally I would feel better attaching it to the wall somehow but that is just me, like I suggested can be accomplished with either screws to the brick or double sided tack tape, the only problem I have had is when the tack tape gets really hot it tends to let go.

    2mp IP ptz over wifi

The speed test are useless here, you would still be internal to the network, so it will be what ever the max speed of the wireless link is, not the bandwidth. Try and get a line of sight setup, this should give you your best network speeds over wifi. Also good choice on the 5GHz and not 2.4.

    From a supplier installer's view

Would love to see some pictures, been thinking about trying some of their gear, but haven't been sure on the quality.

    Video tranmission over sea!!

Be prepared to pay dearly for any type of SAT link with a good enough speed to handle this video transmission at any FPS to give you a good quality video, and it is usually charged by the MB.
  20. Even with DHCP on devices will always request the last IP address they had previously and are usually reassigned the same address unless it has been used, however it is always best practice to set it static. If you set it static you should make sure it is outside of the DHCP pool, because your router may try to serve the same address twice if the static IP is only set on the DVR, unlikely but it could happen.

    Is There Such a Thing...

Or you could go with something like this: http://www.amazon.com/Shielded-Keystone-Surface-Mount-Color/dp/B006ZMT56W And screw it into the wall.

    Is There Such a Thing...

If you want to mount the keystone to the wall, you could use a small piece of double sided tack tape. But I do agree, I have always found it easier to put an RJ45 end on the cable then punch down into these jacks.

System Design and Design Tools Interest

http://cctvcad.com/ http://www.jvsg.com/ Both of those tools are not free, however I believe JVSG gives a 30 day trial. Both can do what you have stated above, if you released your tools for free or for less then the cost of this software I am sure the home hobby person may be interested, but I can't say if the pro's would be.

    Need help

Not sure of anything that can do wireless streaming, without some extra gear like wireless transmitter and such, however if you don't need it to actually stream and only want to record video of what you are doing I would suggest a go pro camera. Or look into something like this: http://www.spytechs.com/spy_cameras/Button-Camera-C1120.htm

    Is this a camera issue?

This looks to me like the DVR is trying to upscale an already poor image, causing pixelation. We see D1 slapped on everything now-a-days, everyone wants D1 so suppliers have just started putting it on everything, even if its not truely supported, or supported D1 real time across all channels.
