Ok I'm taking over a adt system has anybody ever messed with the pin out on these. The cameras are being fed into a adt dvr with a rj11 plug. I would like to keep some of the cameras going but change out the dvr system. I know it is a 12 volts on the red and black but im not sure how they are getting video back out of the system. I would like to cut the plug at the dvr, feed power to the camera's via another power supply but change over to a bnc via a ballum. I tried to use the yellow and black but I can't seem to get the video out of it for some reason.

whoa 25 db is to much. You don't won't to put in more then 10db over 1000ft then maybe 25 db you got regular f connectors on both ends before you change over you can get a 10db again at local radio shack it has a in and out f connector. 25 db right into a monitor can cause a over heat and fire. This is why Time warner tech. carries a meter to measure db levels anything over 13 db is against code after a fire were kinda wide spread back in 96 due to people getting 20 and 30 plus into there t.v.'s -

And on most jobs we do, we always run coax from dvr out to a security monitor with a bnc input, same cable. Your just changing the connector type in your case. -

Go to Radio Shack and get a F connector to Bnc Female to Male for the dvr then F connector to rca for you tv. Female to male. -
Yes camera's with out line cut can be fooled but it would take more then some around a neck. I seen a utube video where a guy had a mask and a safety vest with leds on the reflecting lines the some camera's blacked out while some were whited out from glare. It was really wild.

I may be wrong but I think it has to do with the cards. Cards come in different formats or is it the readers with those cards. I know our system works on 26 bit but if we use a different readers with the bar codes on them we change to 32 bit. I will get my books out tomorrow and have a better answer for you.

As far as door I would look into the security film. Do a search for it. There might be a dealer in your area. They still might be able to get in but it will take alot of work even with a bat. As far as the deals at cosco you get what you pay for. I know some people on here can hook you up on video cards for computers I have seen some talk about one for about 300 dollars you can find on ebay. I have never seen a good camera at a retail store for sale. Look at some of the post I don't think I can suggest the one's we sell on here via the rules. But I know you can find some good deals on ebay and craigslist that a dealer may have and trying to get rid of. Really depends on the area you are trying to cover. Do you need a camera to see at night with not much light?

Really not sure. i would love to see a answer to this one. Does it act the same to a diffrent light source. Like a another type of bulb?

Not a problem, that's why for any computers or dvr's, phone switch etc. a battery backup ups cause a brown out is normally what kills a system quicker then a surge it self.

Lock release when fire alarm trigger...
rocmay replied to tcssystem's topic in General Access Control Discussion
Just as easy to put in a egress lock that unlocks when you try to open the door on the exit side. Normally a 15 secound timer then the mag releases.
