Not sure if this is the right forum to post this under, but do the cat5e baluns reduce quality of video or cause any problems? I am looking at these: http://www.monoprice.com/products/product.asp?c_id=110&cp_id=11011&cs_id=1101101&p_id=6878&seq=1&format=2

Anyone ever deal with DigiMerge ? So i found this: http://www.buy.com/prod/q-see-qt5116-16-channel-digital-video-recorder-digital-video-recorder/216738869.html Good price and it seems to be equivalent to the Qvis Apollo HD PRO 16 Channel Security DVR Real Time D1 Resolution Q-See seems to be a cheap brand but you say its made by Dahua ??
-
Any cons about it ? Like random reboots? I see the video lags a bit over the web in the youtube video but i assume that's normal for streaming video online, what about a locally hooked up monitor to the dvr does that lag(live view)? How is the iphone/android software for it ? UVIStar ? is that the same brand? Hows tech support and warranty? Looks like they do have it labeled as Dahua on this one: http://www.uvistar.com/Dahua-DVR-DH-DVRXX04HE-T-VGA-HDMI-eSATA-and-USB2-0-full-D1-167.html

Where is a good place to look up Dahua? Never really herd of them? How is the software on them?

Want to set up my office with some cams here is what i picked out so far: For Indoors ARM Electronics 600BCDN bullet camera it has a 3.6mm wide angle lens should be good for covering a lot of space. For Outside ARM Electronics C600BCDNSS bullet camera 3.6mm wide angle. Also ARM Electronics C520BCDNWA which has a 2.2mm lens Anyone have experience with ARM brand ? For the DVR i am looking into AverMedia EH1008H Hybrid DVR (8 Channels) I know it has good reviews, this has good specs and it is hybrid. I also saw "Mace 8 Channel 500GB Surveillance Digital Video Recorder" on B and H site, looks good as far as the specs just not sure of the brand name. I would like to get some feedback on my choices, and if you have suggestions. I will be doing like 6 cameras and would like to stay at the 2k$ price range for everything. I was looking at some kits such as "Swann" but i hear that all the kits like that are crap. -
