  1. First of all, are there any SuperDVR users out there that have been able to get E-Mail notification on motion to work? I have gotten the "Automail" section configured and can successfully send test messages, but for the life of me I can't figure out how to configure the software to send an e-mail when there is motion. Since I'm new to this I'd like to think that I'm missing something really easy but I've confirmed it sees motion (in the motion detection screen I see it picking up the motion), I've systematically clicking through just about every setting and I haven't been able to get it to work. As obtuse as the user interface and user manual is (SuperDVR), I would be willing to give this an honest shot if I could get this feature working because the card itself I felt was very reasonable ($80) and I'm actually a bit impressed with the video quality it's able to capture/record at such a low price. And that brings up the other question. From reading it around it sounds like you're stuck with whatever software comes with your DVR card due to hardware/compatibility reasons? Does anyone know of any alternative software that may work with my system? I am willing to pay money for decent software, provided it has a demo version I could try out. The card is a Q-see QSDT4PCRC (main chip is MV9200). I appreciate any help or recommendations anyone has!
  2. Q-see tech support came through like a champ. I did have to wait until later in the day for a callback, but they were able to quickly get me going once I got the tech on. As I suspected, it was a simple configuration issue. I was pretty blown away at how easy it was for him but I've got to believe it was because I had just uninstalled and reinstalled the software immediately before he called so that it was vanilla. I swear that I checked the exact same boxes as he did LOL. I'm still interested to learn if there is any other software out there that may be compatible with my card.
  3. Brand new to this..my current setup is a dedicated windows machine with a q-see dvr card (analog cctv, not ipcams). The software that came with the card (SuperDVR) seems to do everything I could want a 21st century residential security system to do with the exception of having a way to FTP videos based on events like motion, alarm, etc. Is there any software out there that offers that feature, preferably open source/freeware? My requirements are: o CCTV/Analog (that hopefully is compatible with my dvr card) o Motion activated e-mail alerts with frame captures o Remote Internet viewing o And of course the motion/event/trigger activated FTP/remote network backup feature which is the only one my current software doesn't have I have seen a truck load of products boast "remote network backup" and even throw "FTP" in there somewhere but when you look closely at the features, that translates into you logging into the system remotely and performing the backup yourself to a USB drive (a deceptive way to give remote Internet viewing a second bullet if you ask me). So I want this capability to have more than a couple of still frames in the event an observant thief takes the box on his way out the door. With that said, I'm also interested in any and all feedback/recommendations on how to deter or prevent physical theft of the security system itself. Thanks in advance!
