Is this possible, I have a problem here where the installer has ran RG59 back to the DVr, my problem is I need to be able to controll the menu also. Can you run the video and data down the one cable, I heard it is possible using a Y splitter, but not sure.

If IE6 works so should IE7 both can use ActiceX, just make sure you turn on ActiveX ?

It might be that the DVR is looking to install Active X, as of yet Firefox does not allow this, if you are using Windows Vista, then you have to run IE as an Administrator to allow ActiveX to install. hope this helps. PS. have you checked port forwarding in the Router

Have been using the Netopia for quite some time now over the internet without any problems, two things 1. make sure you also set the firewall to low 2. if you need to setup a dynamic IP then you will have to telnet into the Router to do this.

Hi cachecreekcctv to sort your problem with windows vista is to right click on internet explorer and run as anministrator then install active x this works 100% all the time and only needed to be done once.

Anyone got any ideas on this, my DVR has BNC which i want to run to a VGA computer monitor, i know i can run a vga lead but its quite thick to run along the wall, is there a type of lead to convert this or a box type gadget.

At present have a customer on the phone about the length of his run to the camera, he has run 3 driffrent types of cable rg59, rg100, and cat5e, at present he is using the rg59 cable connected to icrealtime dvr to icr1000 camera, running over 720 feet, he has a picture but its blur he is telling me, its fixed 17 feet high looking over a yard, not sure to to make this picture better, any ideas, on this, do i need to change to the cat5e and use the balluns, or what, also he is having problems trying to connect a bnc plug to the rg100 cable.

Not sure where to post this, so let me explain. I have a flex 16way pro DVR from ICREALTIME, my problem is that one of my customers want to be able to link this DVR to this Till system, i have heard of this been done, but never tried it, would not know where to start, can someone give me some info on this till scan thing, and what i would need to make it work, by the way the tills are all pc based and connected to broadband if this helps. thanx

just a quick question, what is the driffrents in using 5400rmp and 7200rpm

Hi can someone help me if possible, i have a 22z camers from mace and a 16way mace dvd, what i want to do is setup the camera so i can zoom in and out using the dvr as the controllor, is this possible, it comes with some connectors, but i'm not sure how this works if at all.

can some one tell me where the 22z should go indoor / outdoor / lane way or what.

Been at this for a while now, i installed a mace 4way non realtime dvr into a building, every thing were great until a week later i got a call to say 2 of the cameras were off, when i got to the customers place, yes they were off, i pluged the 2 cameras that ere off into the monitor and they came on i then took the other two cameras that were working and pluged them into channel 1 and 2 also i could not get these 2 cameras to work, plug in all 4 cameras and restarted the dvr, all came on. After about 2 minutes camera 1 went off and then camera 3, rebooted it again and on all the cameras came on again, i replaced cameras and dvr a few time to try to solve the problem, but all the dvr's work fine in the workshop. i then replaced the dvr with a eneo this to date is working fine no problems, i think the problem is power related, anybody have any ideas on how i can fix this.

CIF resolution recording (352x240) and the Mpeg4 compression is this hardware or software related, can a firmware update the cif to cif2 or increase the resolution, really the playback quility is crap, there must be something i'm doing wrong, anyone else agree with what i am saying or better have a solution. its bad enough trying to pin point someone moving from camera to camera without having the problem of trying to makeout who it is.

what about the ide cable 33 or 66 i'm sure mace use 33 does this make a driffrents. ?

we are using 7200rpm maxtor drives in our dvr's, one think it that the ide cables are 33 and not 66 udma's does this slow down the speed of the hard drive, not sure if i am making sense on this one

is there anyway to fix this quility playback problem

the dvr's i have at present are the dvr0414 dvr800 dvr1600 all mace, have been trying to ring them for a while now to find out if there were any updates for these dvr, i find playback quility is not very good even at 25fps the screen is not very clear. Also one big problem i have is when you are playing back and you change to another camera the time either jumps backwards or forwards to driffrent times, and its never the same seconds, its very hard to follow someone through a door way when the time jumps we lose sight of the person. this is a real draw back with this dvr.

ya but we sell mace not eneo this was a once off, any idea where i can get them small power boxes in europe with 220v, computer powerboxes too big

Have some in/out door cameras and have found after a few days the inside of the glass get condensation build up, also the camras have about 20 ir's for night time, one thing i did try was to replace the foam around the lens with rubber this seems to have cured the problem on one of the cameras but it would take me ages to replace all them. and i;m not sure if this is what cured it. anyone come across this

thanx for all your help, i also have questions on dvr's been looking at the icrealtime treads getting good reports, also spoke to matt of icrealtime and got one of the icrealtime dvr's look good will put it on line tomorrow and see it on line. will be using it with 53cir's, is there any good calculator to work out how much recording i will get from a given hard drie

i have some of these cameras in stock and have got another lot in but this lot have a sharp lens 1/4" instead of sony 1/3" will this make much of a driffrents i cant see any but them i'm only starting out

thanx rory have you used the cam53cir, if so have you ever tried to read the plates of cars with one of them, i have a job coming up and want to use one of them, where would be the best place tp position the camera up high or down low and what lens would i use, is there some guide lines on the way to position cameras in driffrent environments.

will give it a shot, also at night the camera gets hazy its like the ir's are reflecting off the glass on the front of the camera, i have tried to tighten the cap and also move the rubber seal closer to the cap to stop this glare, again any ideas, very new to all this
