    best setup over fiber network?

Ilkie has excellent questions, I would add to that who will have access to the views and recording equipment? On top of that you almost never need 30fps. I find that 8-15 fps is more than adequate for 99% of situations.

    Remote Recording

If this is just a single camera and you have the ability to turn down the stream settings a bit, I see no reason why that is not an option. I would still record locally and then transfer the local recording via SFTP or some other means. (remote file sync thru a tunnel maybe?)
  3. Could the ISP in Germany be restricting traffic on that port or perhaps restricting traffic from the USA? I know several European nations and providers have changed their policies since the Snowden stuff was released. I think I might start there and ask the ISP if they have something in place causing the issue. Can the IP address or domain name be pinged? I would try both the IP and the domain. If the IP address works, but the domain doesn't that suggests a DNS issue with the ISP. If they both fail, it could be more aggressive measures taken by the ISP. I would also try a trace route with both IP and domain to see if it shows where the failure is happening.

    how to share viewing online

You will need port forwarding to see it outside your network. As for the wireless part, use a pair of wireless bridges and you should be good to go. Engenius makes some reasonably priced options, but companies like Ubitquiti and Cisco also make excellent stuff in this area. 130 feet should not be an issue as long as you have CLEAR line of site between the two points. I am not talking direct line of sight, I mean the entire fresnel zone (it is football shaped). Here are two diagrams, one for fresnel zone and one for port forwarding.
  5. pro tip... buy a pack of baby wipes to deal with the goo that comes out of the direct buried cable, it makes cleaning the cable and your fingers a LOT easier!
  6. This is VERY incorrect information! A higher resolution simply adds more pixels to the given field of view. The lens defines what is seen, the resolution defines the clarity at which it is viewed.... especially when using digital zoom. Higher MP (usually over 3MP, but it is sensor dependent) resolutions generally require more light to provide a clear image too. I can demonstrate this with a Mobotix camera in my driveway if you really want me to.

    Analogue to IP

Also, when I updated the firmware, I couldn't access the encoder through explorer anymore. It may have reset to the default address of 192.168.0.90

    Inspection Lens?

Borescopes are used for two things that I am aware of. The first is to inspect the barrels of weapons, and the second is to inspect water or gas lines but typically those include a light source.
  9. You could try to find a full size or at least fairly mature tree and have it transplanted on that corner, then mount the cameras in the tree to mask them. That is certainly a bit unorthodox, but it could help keep things looking a bit less intrusive.

    Hello CCTV world!

Are you looking for personal knowledge or trying to start a business? Do you have any background with CCTV at all? If not, what is your background?
  11. Just run some shielded wire for the garage door button.
  12. Did you set up port forwarding? If so, did you verify that the ports were actually open? Did you set up a DDNS account? Do you know her public IP at the location of the DVR? Where are you located?
  13. I have one you might be able to use, but it depends on what you are maintaining. Any more details?

    HELLO =) from LV

    yup, search is your friend!
  15. Check with Louroe, they are the gold standard for this kind of thing in my opinion.
  16. The link below works, but it is not a cheap option. Have you tried using another pair of wires in the traveler cable? http://www.eyespyli.com/svex_yt2.htm
  17. You could do it either way, add visible light cover things (nice deterrent) or add IR light and aim it at dark spots. I am generally a fan of visible light, but if you want to let the wilderness to remain unspoiled, that could be a consideration.
  18. You might consider adding a few extra IR lights for the periphery of your widest image. The IR lights on most of the PTZ's in that price range are basically a spot light, so the center 1/3 of your image will look fantastic, but the other 2/3 will be pretty dark. I have one of these mounted on the front of my office and it is excellent. This is a pretty decent price too, I know it is just outside your budget but it is a quality unit that is worth considering. http://www.security360cameras.com/ltptzip762x20ir-13-cmos-2-mp-ip-ptz-camera/
  19. I don't think that is possible.

    IR Illuminator

99% of the IR lights out there are designed to work with the existing CCTV architecture, so that means 12VDC, 24VDC or 24 VAC, and the newer stuff runs on POE. What would prevent you from using a small power supply and hooking it up normally instead of searching for a one off item?

    A few questions on wiring

Is this conduit underground? Are you not re-using the conduit?

  24. are the recordings on an SD card at the camera or on a server?
  25. Depending on the building, you may want to fill that hole with fire stop putty and then silicone seal the outside.
