    Help Please

Go to portforward.com, look up your router model number... follow instructions.
  3. One section at a time! You get it mounted, level, and solid then add the next one. If you are using one hole straps it is always wise to put the screw mount below the conduit, with two hole straps it doesn't really matter. You must have a strap within 3 feet of any box or device (by code) and then a maximum of every ten feet after that. I usually go about 6-8 feet (depends on the wall). To get it mounted I will set the piece on the wall with the straps dangling from it to see where I want the straps to be, mark my spots, drill the holes, and insert the screw/strap very loosely. Set the conduit in the strap and tighten it. Depending on the type of strap, it may not hold the conduit tightly, it is just a support. You can also feed pull string thru the pipe as you mount it, then once the conduit is in place you attach the wires and give it a tug. If you do go that route... ALWAYS pull a new pull string along with your wires so you have it for later if you need it. 150 Cameras System

Yeah I fully agree with TomCCCTV. This is an area where you very much get what you pay for. If you think that 2 year warranty is worth anything, I dare you to try and actually use it. You will spend weeks waiting for delivery and even more weeks waiting for support... that is a bad idea. I offered you a solid solution, what you need to understand is that headaches and cost have an inverse relationship. Spending more up front leads to far less headaches, spend less up front gets you way more headaches for a very long time and you will either spend more money to fix it or give up and get nothing at all.
  6. BICSI is one of the certifying authorities for that type of work, you can check out their website. I would also look up structured cabling or cable installer standards, I am sure that will give you a ton of stuff to read up on. Try the same search on youtube too.

You must setup port forwarding in your router, here is the diagram I use to explain how this works. The ports usually come pre-defined in your DVR, but you can make them almost any number you want. I would STRONGLY recommend not changing them though because it sounds like you have no experience in this area.

    150 Cameras System

If you are going to use IP cameras about 95% of them run on POE, so you only need a single cable to the camera. I am going to send you a private message with a point of contact that can probably help you quite a bit.
  9. What is the alarm doing? What kind of sensors are tied to the alarm points? There is not enough information provided here to make any sense of your issue.

    [ HELP ] Choosing CCTV System ..?

Mobotix equipment could do all of this except the police department. Actually it could even do that with a SIP server running to interface with the phone system. The question is what requirements the local police would have for something like this. You want to be quite careful because typically the costs associated with false alarm responses are charged to the homeowner. You might be better off paying a third party service to monitor the system and call the police on your behalf. That would greatly reduce the odds of a false alarm going to the police. Give these guys a call, they are in Malta and I think they might be able to help you: http://www.prosolutions.com.mt/en/productsandservices/businessproducts/cctv/cctvmobotix
  12. I would be VERY careful making this assumption. A lot of those systems are designed to ONLY accept that number of cameras with no expansion built in. This is a licensing issue, plus it ensures quality of service that they cannot provide if the system were expandable. It is also one of the multitude of reasons they can keep the cost down.

Display CCTV warning signs or not?

It really depends on state laws.... some places requires two party consent, and that sign gives you that to cover the legalities involved.

    groundlooping on tv screen

Typically you want to be a minimum of 18 inches away if you are running parallel... more is better.

In my experience a lot of those pre-made cables are extremely low quality cable, and that means that have extremely low quality shielding. I would get some quality siamese cable and either terminate them yourself or for a worst case scenario you could use some of these just to see if the issue resolves itself:

    Welcome!
  17. Here is my graphic that explains port forwarding. You will need to make a few tweaks to your router, but it is pretty simple.

Are these hikvision ip cameras good?

There is no "might" to it, you will not have the facial detail you are looking for at 50 feet.
  19. ssnapier

    Problems seeing IP Cameras!

Check your security settings and pop-up blockers. Lots of cameras have plugins that need to be loaded and the browser will prevent that from happening.
  20. So has Mobotix, but the Geovision actually has a few things I like better than the Mobotix. The manipulation of the picture is a bit more intuitive on the GV cameras.
  21. Did you change the port in your router as well?
  22. There are some very good sample images and videos on the Axis website, and if you type most models into youtube you an find sample images from a TON of cameras.
