Do I actually need a geovision card? For GV IP cameras
PA2001 replied to milkisbad's topic in Geovision
"Since the cameras have built-in web server and can be accessed online by itself, do I actually need a geovision card? " No! You only need a card if you want to use analog cameras. For an IP only system, no card is needed! -

What url to hook up geovision to 3rd party NVR?
PA2001 replied to ghurty's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
The default address for Geovision IP cameras is: 192.168.0.10 You may need to do a "reset" on the camera to return it to the default settings. Have you tried accessing the camera thru a browser (IE) while it is connected to a PC? -
I have an old analog PTZ camera that bit the dust. It seems that the pan-tilt part of this unit is what quit working. Took the camera out of the dead housing, and connected it to a working PTZ, and it still works. Is there anyway to repurpose this camera, possibly an outdoor housing or some other way to control it?
-
which make dome has it come from or has it been taken from a pan tilt motor and housing. as the control methods are different for each type of mech It came out of an imported from China ptz dome. I will check the camera when I get home to see if it has brand and model number info on it. The thing worked great for 5 years, then just quit.

Have not been able to do remote access for a few days. Is dipmap.com down?

I will have to go back to the AT&T store and try it out (IP Cam Viewer). Right now I'm using my old Samsung Captivate on 3G, and it works fine, a little slow, but it works. Just as a side note and as stated in the other thread, GV-AView works just fine on the Samsung S3 and the Samsung Note on Wi-Fi, but on 4G, it gets to the "Loading" screen, and never displays any images. Loaded IP Cam Viewer on the Captivate (3G), and it looks better than GV-AView! Thanks for the suggestion. Off to the AT&T store again later today.
-
It appears that it is definitely an AT&T 4G problem. Went to this site, (geovision remote access demo): http://www.usavisionsys.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=22&t=184 And I get the same results. Good on wifi, no good on 4G. I wonder if a call to AT&T would be helpful, or a big waste of time!

With the OLD 3G phone, It WILL connect via a remote wifi location, and it WLL connect via 3G. With the NEW 4G phone, It WILL connect via a remote wifi location, and it WILL NOT connect via 4G. When I say that it "WILL NOT" connect, I mean that it gets to the "Loading" screen, but will not display any images. Seems like there is an issue with the 4G aspect of it!
-
I think that all my server side settings are fine, as I can connect remotely thru my old 3G phone, and can connect remotely thru a PC with DMMultiView or using a browser. The only thing that I'm not sure about is port 5511. What is that port for?
-
Yes, it works just fine on my old Samsung Captivate, both on wifi and 3G. I'm on At&T. Also, can you tell me how this "logmein" works, or provide a link? Not familiar with it.
-
My phone is new (unrooted) at version 2.3 and it does not work. Upgraded the phone via Kies to 4.0 and it still does the same thing. It all seems like it has something to do with the "4G" aspect of it. Is anyone out there on AT&T with a newer Samsung phone on 4G able to use Gvaview?
-
I'm having the same problem, wifi OK, 4G stuck at "loading", no images. (It works on 3G, I recently upgraded to 4G with a new phone, and that is when it quit working). Did you ever find a solution?

Geovision IP cam - GV-BL120D - how do I reset it to factory?
PA2001 replied to RichTJ99's topic in Geovision
Reset GV Bullet Cams Bullet Camera 1. Unplug the power cable and the network cable to start. 2. Loosen the camera’s cover and remove the Silica Gel Bag. 3. Unscrew the Fixing Screw and slightly pull out the camera module. Accessing the Camera 4. Press and hold the Default button for 50 seconds while plugging the power cable. 5. Release the default button and the process of loading default values is completed. 6. Slightly push the camera module back and fasten the Fixing Screw. 7. Replace a new Silica Gel Bag and fasten the camera’s cover immediately. After you do the reset, the IP address for the camera will default to 192.168.0.10. You might need to reconfigure your NIC to gain access to the camera, and then change the IP address to 192.168.1.xxx
