Using a GV-1480 on SW version 8.5, on a mix of 16 analog and few IP cameras. Is it possible to move an analog camera channel to another position? I can move the analog cameras around on channels 1-16, but I would like to move a few of the analog cameras to positions 17-32. Looked thru the settings and could not find out how to do it, or even if it is possible. I can move an IP camera to positions 1-16, but when I do, I loose that analog input. Thanks

That is interesting, and I will look into it! Any other options....

Running a 1480 with on version 8.5. Is it possible to record data simultaneously to the internal hard drives on the computer and to a network attached storage box (at the same time)? Trying to get duplicate the data in case of hard drive failure or loss.

The goal is to try to record 2 copies of the data at he same time in two different locations. Is this possible with the 8.5 software or thru Windows 7?

I have the 3mp bullet and looks great! Using it at a wide angle, and provides plenty of detail. Night vision works well in my situation, because there as a street light nearby. The only HUGE problem I'm having, is trying to get the 8.5 download. I've submitted 3 requests to Geovision, and have heard nothing yet. Is Geo's tech normally this lousy? Just curious...

Been shopping for a new 16ch DVR card, and have decided on the GV-1480. There are two versions available, one has the "D-sub type dongle" connectors, and the other has the "DVI dongle". Other than connector type, is there any difference between these cards? Also, from reading other posts, I saw that if I use v. 8.4 software, 16 IP cameras can be added to the system. Is this correct? Lastly, (if this type of question is allowed) a recommendation for a reliable vendor for legit cards at the best price. Thanks.

Been reading around this forum for a while, and found answers to many of my questions. Been running a 16 channel GV-650 card for about a year in an older computer, and it all worked ok, but it was kinda slow. Decided to upgrade to a faster PC: Intel 2.8G proc. Intel Motherboard D915GEV 1 gig DDR2 gam Installed DVR card and version 5.4.0.1 Geo software, and the system works fine. Then I installed Geo software version 6.1, and now an error message appears on the screen: Micro-P version not compatable. Please call your vendor to upgrade your HW. Always must have a plan B! Installed the GV-650 card into another system: AMD 3700+ ASUS Motherboard AN8-VMUAYGZ 1 gig DDR ram Same thing happens again. Works fine with SW version 5.4.0.1, but the same error message appears with version 6.1. Can anyone help? Thanks!

Looking for a slightly used GV-1240-16 or GV-1480-16 DVR card. Older versions of these cards would be OK. Looking to upgrade my own home system, and the new cards are a little out of my price range. PM me if you have one of these cards for sale at a reasonable price. Thanks.

I sent you a couple of email messages. Did you get them? Thanks.

I have some questions to ask you about the cards, please contact me: sonyrx554@yahoo.com (Tried to PM you, but I do not have over 10 posts). Thanks Paul

Hello! Looking to replace a PC based DVR that recently stopped working. It's an OLD 16 Channel Geo 650-16 system. Thought about replacing it with another PC based system, but looked at stand alone systems, and I think this type of system will meet me needs, (personal home based system). Found this DVR, and it has the specs. that I looking for. The price is a little more than I want to spend, but, I know, ya get what ya pay for! Does anyone have any experience with this DVR: Dynacolor DG216R-016CNV 16ch DVR Real Time 240ips recording or can recommend any other DVR that is similar to the price and features of this one. Thanks

Ya, it works as advertised, and meets my needs for now.

Yes, it is an older card. Guess I'll have to live with the older version of the SW. Thanks!
