I've ran some searches and can't exactly find a thread with the same problem I'm having. I have a Sensormatic Speed Dome I belive it to be one of the early versions of the Ultra. Its been in place and working fine for god knows how many years (store was built in 98) and last week the camera video went black and loss it's signal. I reviewed the intellex to see if it was hit by anything, but no the video feed dimmed it's self and went out. I did a dome reset and everything was fine untill last night. came in in the am and it had a very dark and heavily distorted picture. I checked the intellex and it didn't even come up as having a signal. Reviewed video and it just went out. I tried doing a reset and it wont respond. TouchTracker says reset in progress, but knothing happens. I can tell it had a live shot and it wasn't just a frozen image because when someone was in view I could see blurry distorted things moving around. No movement from the touchtracker either. I went up and pulled the camera from the i/o board and from what I can remember the POWER and COMM LED's should both be lit, correct? This dome just has the Green power LED on. Has anyone had this happen to them and if so are there any solutions besides having to call in a repair. It's the end of the year and there just isn't money in the budget for an ADT call.

Thanks Ranger. I'll let u guys know in the next couple of days my findings. Any ideas on how much one of those kits cost to hook up w/o an i/o board? worst case senerio wouldn't it be cheaper going that route than getting another i/o board?

Thanks. I thought about moving the camera to another housing to see if it was the i/o board. It read a install manual somewhere on line that read that if the COMM led doesnt flash then the "-" data line is grounded. I dont know how that could be if knowones ever touched it before. I've seen i/o boards on ebay for cheap before does one size fits all with the ultra domes??? also, i read that there is a way to install them w/o the i/o board. is it possible to get the pins needed to do this? Im gonna give another port in my j-box a try. i have one more port available. thanks a million

I am running an Intellex DVMS with version 2.59 software. The ESM I have hooked up to it only has one of it's hardrives acually working. My question is does anyone know if I can hook up any external hardrive through the firewire as an ESM. Does anyone kow if using a USB external hardrive would work? Buying them from Sensormatic is way out of budget. Anyother thought would be to replace the hardrives in the ESM. Anyonw know if any ol' hardrive would do or do they have to be certain brand, size and rpm. Any feedback would be great guys.

I'm havin trouble with the RJ-45 wire that connects the TouchTracker to the EIM box for power and data communication. The RJ-45 connections broke and I cut one of the ends off and replaced it with a new one. Plugged it in and everything worked great. I then decided to shorten the cable and put another RJ-45 connector on the other end. When I plug the TouchTracker in I no longer have control of my Call monitors functions from my Mux. It also no longer splits the screen either. Still have control of the PTZ's just cannot pan thru the cameras usin gthe call option. I checked and rechecked my connections and made sure the cable was wired correctly. Does anyone have any ideas what happened. Also yes, the touchtracker is set for mux16. Could it have anything to do with making the cable shorter by any chance? I wouldn't think so, but I just don't know anymore.

Does anymone know where I can get a 16 channel remote switcher for a Sensormatic Multiplexer. I'm not looking for a Touch Tracker. I'm looking for a remote panel that looks like the front panel of the mutiplexer that will plug into the Multiplex with a RJ11 connection. The manual shows one as an option, but im having trouble locating one. Any ideas???

I am not familier with GE brand of CCTV equipment. I currently have a Sensormatic system in place and found what appeared to be brand new GE Interlogix Cyber dome. 7" HSG w/ coax Interface. Model A0007A414 First, I tried to wire it up like an Ultra Speed dome. No luck I got a very fuzzy picture and no controls. Called the 800 on the box and they told me it needed to have it's own power supply. Got a seperate power supply hooked to it and it has a great picture! I then hooked up the servo wires for control and I get nothing. Does anyone know about these cameras or a site that has info about them. Is it compatible with the Sensormatic system or not? This is tourture having a new PTZ in your hands and not being able to use the darn thing. Any feedback would be great. Thanks Jeremy

How would I do that?

Maybe I'll just put it on ebay and raise enough to get an Ultra Dome from Sensormatic.

Thanks for replying.

Yes it is a DVMS 16000 running v2.59. I dont have to touch tracker running into the Intellex unit though. Its powered and connected through the Jbox that has all the camera lines running to it. 2 power lines run back to the office and a small box (i dont know what its called has a transformer hooked to it as well. Then the Touch Tracker feeds into it with cat5 wire. it was also running to a Sensormatic multiplexer as the remote in so you could switch through the cameras and set up multiplex shot of 1, 4, 9, 16 cameras. When I put in the Intellex There was no "remote in" on the DVR. I think you can wire that box into the DVR with a serial port connector which is the output on the box but has a cat5 connection at the end of the wire so it could go into the anolog multiplex. Needless to say the only thing hooked to the DVR are the video feeds. I control the cameras still because the protocal must be running through the jbox.

how do you do that?

Using a Sensormatic Intellex. I was using the coax video feed and servo wrires from the siameas wire from and old PTZ. I then had to run seperate power to get a clear picture. Im guessing it doesn't recognize Sensormatics protocal from the touch tracker.
