  1. Hi there I will be installing a Dahua IPC-HF3500 camera and I was wondering if this lens would be compatible? If not, would it still work but what would the disadvantages be? http://www.dahuasecurity.com/products/ipc-hf3500--4.html http://www.sourcesecurity.com/technical-details/cctv/image-capture/lenses/tamron-m12vg412.html Many thanks in advance Jack
  2. Hi there everyone, I have a few of these cameras: http://www.dahuasecurity.com/products/ipc-hdb3300--5.html I was wondering if it was possible to wire it so that upon clicking a button (in Milestone XProtect), it will open/close the gate to which it is wired to. What type of cable would I need to use (just alarm cable?) and do you know if it is easy to wire these into the control boxes of automatic gates. Which end does it plug into on the actual camera itself and will Milestone pick this up as an output? I've figured out how to add a button to the camera display screens (that's the simple bit!) Many thanks in advance Jack
  3. Sorry about bumping this but does anyone have any clue about this?
  4. I don't like them periods at the end... I will give your suggestions a go - many thanks!
  5. Hi guys, I have a Dahua IPC-HF3500 camera and it keeps switching back to SVGA quality, even when I change it to 3MP/5MP. It worked for the first few weeks but then it changed to this quality which is awful. I did install NVR software on another computer, but have closed down the software on all clients and accessed it via a web browser but it switches after 30 seconds or so when I save the settings for 3MP / 5MP. Appreciate your help Jack

    Dahua firmware

If anyone needs the latest firmware for IPC-HF cameras, PAL, let me know, I have them. Full support for all browsers I think.
  7. Hi guys, So I've downloaded and uploaded the latest firmware to the camera, still switching from 5MP to 3MP sometimes, then back to SXGA. I was wondering if it could be anything to do with the network cable being wired incorrectly? Could it not be able to cope with the 5MP bandwidth and is instead lowering the resolution? Many thanks! Jack

    Dahua firmware

Hi there guys I was wondering if anyone had firmware for IPC-HF3500. I'm having major problems with it changing resolution constantly. I would be so grateful if someone could provide it to me. Many thanks Jack
  11. Hello there cctv, many thanks for your help! Would you have any idea where I can get the firmware for IPC-HF3500? I looked at the support section on the Dahua website but they are saying that they don't provide support for firmware downloads. Many thanks Jack
  12. Hi there Dexter, many thanks for your reply. I have been using Chrome, however tried using Internet Explorer and the same thing. I have an IPC-HDB3300 and changed it to 3MP and it is switching back to 1080 after a few seconds as well :S Any help would be appreciated Cheers Jack

  14. Hi guys, thanks for your help. Still no solution found, but here is what happens immediately after I change to 5 MP. 15. Hello there Tom, thanks for your reply. I switched it back to some 5MP settings two days ago and randomly (didn't touch anything) today it changed back to the SXGA quality. Here's the settings I have set it at and it is now switching back after a few seconds. Cheers Jack
  16. Hello there Tom, Thanks for this. If I was to use 5MP, what would the best settings be? And any idea why this is happening? Thanks Jack
  17. I would also like to see if anyone has any sample clips of the Dahua IPC-HDB3300 or IPC-HF3300/3500 Would be much appreciated, thanks!

    This lens ok?

Hello MaxIcon, many thanks for your reply and to the others that have replied here. On the Dahua website, it says the following 'Lens Type C/CS' - correct me if I'm wrong, but does that not mean it can do both? Also - with the lens that I mentioned, would night time images be any good? Of course I'd have a bit of small light, but I heard CMOS cameras are typically worse than CCD cameras? Thanks again Jack

    This lens ok?

Hi Tom, but maxicon says otherwise? Would a 1/2.8" be a lot different over a 1/3 lens? What about adapters and such? Many thanks

    This lens ok?

You know your stuff - thank you so much for taking the time to reply. I really appreciate it. I noticed you said the HFW3500 - is this the same as the HF3500? Also, I noticed on the spec page for this particular lens that it says that it is 'Auto Iris'. Do I still need a CS adapter even though the camera supports it? Many thanks for your help again.
  21. Hi guys, I was interested in purchasing a Dahua IPC-HF3300 box camera (http://www.dahuasecurity.com/products/ipc-hf3300-12.html) I was looking around on the internet and seen a variety of different lenses. I seen Tamron megapixel lenses and also cheaper, unbranded lenses. Could anyone tell me whether megapixel cameras require megapixel lenses? Or can I go for the cheaper alternatives? Also, does anyone know what this camera is like in low-light? Thanks in advance Jack
  22. Thanks very much for the tips! Appreciate it! When I Googled these & eBayed these, they were very expensive. Is this the norm? If I were to go for a much cheaper alternative around $30-$40, would there be a very big variance in image quality? Thanks Jack
  23. Hi guys, I was just wondering if anyone knew who sold Dahua IP cameras in the UK? I tried Adata but their stuff seems to be very limited. Anyone had any experience buying from China companies? Seem really really cheap, but are they restricted to selling to UK customers? If anyone could PM me a place to go, that would be good. Thanks!
  24. Hi guys, I have decided to go down the route of IP megapixel cameras instead of analogue cameras. I have been looking at several cameras for outdoor usage and have came across this one: http://www.geovision.com.tw/english/Prod_GVIPCAMH264120D.asp It says here that this cameras operating temperature is: 0 °C ~ 50 °C / 32 °F ~ 122 °F If I put this camera into a housing with a heater, will this be able to work OK outside? We can get to temperatures very rarely at about -20 celcius during the winter but it is becoming colder here every winter (Ireland)
  25. But I'm looking for good quality IP cameras. Is the brand you mentioned any good? From the looks of things, I'd need to spend 300£+ to get a decent low light outdoor ip camera. Cheers Jack
