    Simple Introduction

Hi, Just thought I would introduce myself to the forum, I have been working on CCTV for years and want to help people with issues regarding domestic and business related installations. A good way to enter the community I think? Cheers, Grant " title="Applause" />

Some quick info on a system

Hi, I would recommend using a 600TVL camera setup as a bare minimum. The quality on these are far superier than standard cameras. Be very careful when buying CCTV cameras from eBay, some people sell 600TVL cameras but infact ship out 420TVL or below. I would also recommend that you get a vari focal range of 2.8 ~ 12mm so that you can fine tune your viewing angle. Also, Try and go for low light cameras rather than IR, Generally a better result. The street light should be enough to produce a good picture. Below are three types of camera that I would recommend differing in styling and specfication Camera 1 (Lowest Price - Economical For Your Wallet) http://www.uksecurityshop.com/reptile-v505se-sony-chipset-13-ccd-2812mm-varifocal-ir-cctv-camera-600tvl-1566-p.asp Camera 2 (Incredible Value For Money - Low Light Night Vision) http://www.uksecurityshop.com/reptile-v605sd-sony-chipset-13ccd-2812mm-3-axis-45-dome-cctv-camera-309-p.asp Camera 3 (Fabuous Picture Quality 600TVL Day and 700TVL Night) http://www.uksecurityshop.com/samsung-scd-v426dn-dome-2811mm-varifocal-lens-low-light-professional-cctv-camera-1570-p.asp As for a DVR I would recommend going for something thats branded and has a decent warranty. Sometimes its better thinking outside the box, for example, I can show you an 8 Channel CCTV DVR that is a bit more expensive than a four channel but you get a lot more Bang for your Buck! They Also have video demonstrations on YouTube just search "Reptile DVR" on the search box on YouTube.
