hello, I know nowt on this topic so really feel i have an up hill struggle can anybody help? Just got a cnm made 8 channel dvr Black Box CCTV 8 Channel 500GB Network DVR got my cameras comeing threw all good now i want to set it up to view via tinternet and my mobile problem i got is i dont know a gateway from a gatepost need to know what a dnyds (or similar) is apparently i need to get my own network working first then i can view via net sounds well over my head anybody know how to help?

Hello all, I am very new to your forum and the world of cctv, A lot of advice would be appreciated!!! Here is were i am up to Just got a cnm 500gb 8 ch machine, Have two anti vandel sony dome's outside with ir 15 meter range, have two sony bullets not yet installed but feeds piped threw and in place for some neat white indoor domes i just purchased. I am looking at my vga screen i see my images i record in blocks of 30 all good I want to have the cams on motion detect, I see the options in the menu i put my ch1 and ch2 onto md set sentivity to 1 (manual says the lowest) i save and exit. Cams are still recording full time with the little R indicator on screen's manula says they should be displaying M for motion detect, Have looked at the Motion detect area all its all red which i want so its as much coverage as possible, can anybody please shed some light as to were i am going wrong here, As you can see by my user name i am really new to this!! Thanks alot to one and all " title="Applause" /> Update, I managed to get this working, here is how to anybody who reads this in the same boat as i was, Go into record think it is setup you see sun threw the week in blocks make them all red and set the box at the bottom to alarm, this them only records when motion is detected if the box's are ticked green then you will record all the time but your motion will show on a file search as an alarm so usefull also for if you want to see the before alarm/motion event. I have an entirley new problem to resolve now as my cnm box has completley failed and shows no connection threw the vga lead an excellent bit of kit 24 hours old and it's shot
