  1. Not sure. They removed the Internet due to uncontrolled surfing. Is there a client of a client to get to these boxes? As I mentioned it looks like they are stand-alone versions of the software. I'm wondering if it might be easier to migrate to a dedicated DVR and get away from the PC's with the capture cards which are prone to failure?
  2. I have a client who has forty cameras spread across three PC's each running capture software with Analog capture cards. The software is called Completeview manufactured by Salient Systems, I'm not sure of the version of the software but they tell me it was installed three years ago. The client wants to be able to view the cameras at this site from the main site where he is located. I'm pretty sure these are stand-alone versions of the software since the network cards are unplugged from the network. Any thoughts as to the amount of work to get remote access to these outside of the obvious lack of network. Remote viewing software or RDP or not doable?
  3. Does the Pelco DX3100 require remote viewing software to view over the network? If so, where can I get it? If not, can you web into it?
  4. I need to add a PTZ came in place of a fixed camera to a DM Sprite 2 DVR. There are already a couple of Kalatel PTZ's on the system. The PTZ's were installed about four years ago. I was told to beware of potential problems because of protocol modifications by DM over time. Has anyone run into this? If so, how does one avoid issues if there are any?
