  1. This software is just odd. The configuration bar was there just before closing the app, now its not there after opening. I can't figure out how to get it back to do things like Search, Configure, Full Screen, etc... I have the client running on other workstations and they are fine.. all same Client version and all same Windows 7 desktops. Any one know how to get it back? thanks, s-one
  2. hardwired, thank you for all the great info. Very good points about Milestone I was not aware of and using a usb nic is such a great idea for the Exacq if you need to move servers without paying the transfer fee. Going to demo both for a while longer before moving on the purchase. Again thank you! s-one
  3. Thank you both for the clarifications. Before I go with Exacq, is there something similar as far as stability, features, usability for arecont cameras? I've demo'd Milestone's XProtect software and like others had mentioned was pretty good on par with Exacq. I think the Milestone's playback/replay process is much better than Exacq but Exacq's performance on low-end servers/clients are fantastic. Speaking of which I'm using the demo Exacq Pro software on an HP Home Server with an E6800 @ 3.33ghz processor and 4gb memory. With one client that I'm testing with and the 4 Cam Arecont AV8185DN do you think this would power more cams and clients? For example if somewhere down the line I go with 6 more IP cams (10 total).. would the server be sufficient for all of them and Exacq? I realize Exacq is M.A.C. base on the N.I.C. so that's why I should make a server decision too. I apologize for so many questions. You guys have been very very helpful. Thanks, s-one
  4. Thank you for that great tid-bit of info thewireguys. After several days between a few of them my initial impression is going with Exacq. I really thank you all for the suggestions. Thewireguys, does the licensing expire after so long and you have to purchase a new one in order for it to continue working? Like a yearly licensing fee? Also looking at some of the resellers out there it looks like the one within my budget is the EVIP-01. Is this the Exacq Start or Pro version? And when it refers to 1-Channel, does that mean 1 IP Camera per Channel? Also assuming that Arecont's AV8185DN will work with 1-Channel licensing, correct? Thanks much! s-one
  5. If you don't mind me asking, how are you like the Arecont 8185DN and Exacq combo? I have the same cams and right now demoing several nvr software. Thanks kindly, s-one
  6. Thank you both! I will certainly look into all that was suggested.
  7. Thank you, I will look into to that. Any other suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
  8. Hi all, Great forum. For those that have the Arecont AV8185DN or the AV8365DN, which NVR software do you recommend? For now I have just the one 8185 and testing Milestone Xprotect Go which is free. Looking for basic features such as simultaneous live view, motion, archiving, auto ftp/network. Budget is for a resident so can't spend too much. Kind regards, s-one
