  1. hi folks, after having this system set up for a couple of weeks, i'm pretty pleased with it, does everything it says it does with no real flaws, now, my question is, when i'm viewing remotely, the picture is jerky and the timers stick, my upload speed is shocking, so is it just down to this?? or is there settings i can change in the DVR?? my upload speed is 0.37, now, how can i use skype etc with no problems yet i can't see my cams very well?? i got my mum to check from her house, i went and stood infront of 1 of the cams, it took about 20 secs for me to appear at her end any info or help is much appreciated, thanks, Ryan.
  2. ok, got this all up and running now, turned out one of the ports was having some issues, does anyone have a link for the active x control??? so i can download it manually, a couple of machines i've used have had problems downloading it while logging onto the DVR. i went to the publishers website, but there's no download available

  4. hi Tom, i used ports 9000, 80 and 100 as per the instructions, also, i come off my home network, and connect to BT total broadband (bt mobile wifi service) to check it, and still no joy, also, i got my mum to check it too
  5. yeah, i'm not even that fussed about ddns, i just wanna be able to view this over i.e. i've tried so many different things now that i'm just completely confused about the whole setup!! my ISP is BT. i have a bt home hub 2, done all the port forwarding etc (correctly i think)

i haven't got a static IP, although, i was under the impression, that the IP only changed when you reset the router, or had a power cut or something, and 9 times out of 10, it stays the same anyway??
  7. ok, i've been over so many posts now i've lost the plot, when setting up a dyndns, what IP address should i use??? it shows me my routers external IP, but when i tried to put the IP i set up for the DVR in, it said, invalid IP i've read so much info that i feel i'm worse off now than when i started, oh, at the moment, i can view the cameras locally, but not over internet

thanks for that dude, i got the stuff today, pretty pleased with how the cables etc work just having an agonizing day/night trying to set it up remotely, admittedly, i've not read the last few post which seem fairly comprihensive spent all day pissing about, and managed to now get it on my local network, head is faaaar too full of info/conflicting info(due to this thread) to even try to figure out how to get it on i.e (if possible, chrome), so i'll try tomorrow

hey folks, i have a really basic question, i mount the camera at the top of my house, it comes with a 15 metre cable, which runs through the house and into my living room, i have to drill a hole in the outside wall, bring the cable in through the attic, so... how do i get power to the camera?? what i mean is (i don't have the kit yet) do i plug the power supply into the camera?? or into the 15 metre cable that comes with it??
