    Time controlled remote access

I just had to say I found the end of this reply to be hilarious. Agreed, what a MAJOR pain in the butt. why would you need such an idea? as long as you and only you have login info, what time of day does it matter? thats just like turning off my pc from 4-6pm and then when i need to use it at that time, its off...

networking an IP-Encoder for a PTZ

most likely the problem is your internet browser does not accept the script. i know chrome doesnt work on several systems. what type of pc/os/browser are you using? which is java script, and if you are using chrome you need to download the plug in, but it is a pain in the butt to actually make it work. I gave up on it.

Need help piecing my entire surveillance system

if the dvr supports ptz, then its likely to have a built in controller, you can use the mouse to navigate with. if your going ptz i recommend using cat5, and yes you will need baluns for this application as cat 5 does not have power on its own. if you plan on upgrading use cat5 all the way. if no ptz is intended use siamese rg. at 120ft you should be okay with power to the cams.... but you are pushing it. STRICTLY MY OPINION

    dvr 1614n (avc777w) beeping constantly

Unless the DVR states it has a HD it wont have one. It is technically working, you just cant record with it lol. When you turn on the unit does it tell you how big the hard drive is?? how big is the hard drive? is it a sata, non green? if it does register, try to format the hard drive within the settings on the DVR.

    Hey guys

Thanks Adam, Yeah, I am website capable. I just put that site up two weeks ago. I really deal with wholesalers in the state. on my home page is really the cctv stuff I get. i do both residential and commercial work. sometimes i often find myself in a pickle and need a resource to help me out. this is why I have joined. Now, if i question something, I'll come here and give it a shot before ignoring it. On the alarm side of things, I do alarm systems for a friend who is an adt contractor (wireless) when I have the time. they are pretty neat, but would not recommend for commercial. I am also in the market for deals on safe systems, "fireproof, retina or hand censored" really top of the line safes and hiding them. pardon my grammar, but I hate typing. THANKS FOR THE WELCOME ADAM!

    Email and FTP help please

i think that sign is euro? but here in usa you can get a eco lorex system from wholesalers clubs 4ch for 300usd... its a limited dvr system but as someone said in an earlier post, get the dvr seperate from the cameras. it is true.... the premade cables that come with the kits are dainty.... its serves its purpose for monitoring a small property or home. the cameras are good. an example of the system is on my website homepage which is located in my sig.

My cctv on my website, needs tips

Like tom said. Its not a simple solution. there is definitely some software programming as well as some scripting. if you come up with a solution let me know. the problem is you login id and pw to that site. somehow you are going to have to stream that ddns open to be able to just go to the site and view it.

well again let me put my two sense in. if the server is ran off of linux, linux sometimes does not rights a "T" as a "t" caps is a big issue with linux. windows servers are easier to configure. does you subject begin with a cap? or did it begin with a capital letter when you had this issue?

My cctv on my website, needs tips

easier solution in my opinion would just link the ddns to your site and see if you can run it open? if not using an iframe then embed the code into that frame... wahlahhh!

the right side of the circle is the female.... left side is male, pull that puppy off from each side,,, with a little force, lineup the slots and slide it down. very similar to one of my bullets.

    Coax VS Cat5

my opinion... is rg59 if terminated correctly, if not you will have some interference. also a plus is having a power box with it... cheaper to install my opinion and easier.... just my 2 sense. compression fittings, nice pair of strippers and you are good to go.

    Anti - CCTV

down here in south florida, we have cameras at every intersection. only those posted as "red light camera, including right turn" are only active for this purpose. all of the other cameras are just there for EYEs, as so flo crime rate is going through the roof. I tell ya these cams are really good, they get your plate and perect image of your face driving 60mph. I am for cameras in one aspect to protect us. But i am not for it when it comes time for martial law! no body can go anywhere without being picked up.

My cctv on my website, needs tips

so what you are asking is how to link you live video feed to your website? its pretty complicated, do you have a site manager or someone capable of writing scripts? what purpose would it benefit you to have a live feed on your website. i have compare and contrast on mine, and it seems to drive a good amount of clients my way. record something, thumb it, upload, walllah but if its necessary I will point you to someone will know the answer.
  21. I was also having the same problem on the same router. all you should have to do is forward your ports to 80 and that should solve it? you said you are on att? if im not mistaken arent they a dynamic ip??? you need to set it to static so you can view it for more than 5 minutes ;o)

Replace my Costco Samsung system with?

not for nothing guy but check out zmodo.... their higher end stuff is pretty good... stay away from BJS or costco becuase Lorex now puts out only ECO series there. well in my area. Systems are terrible just good for a rinky dink system, no options, bare minimum. I'm a lorex fan, but these guys are going in the crapper.
