So I am having some issues with spider webs on the fronts of my cameras that ruin the picture at night. Seems like im having to get out there every day to clean them.. Are any of you guys having problems with spider webs also? Is there anything I could either spray on there or do to help keep the spiders off?

So Im trying to figure out what the best way to run cables for my outside cameras. Would Cat5 or BNC/Power cable be better? Which one gives you better quality? Will wires sitting in direct sunlight tend to degrade and lose quality? Do any of you guys run your wires in PVC pipe and junction boxes to make it look cleaner? Any info helps me since im a newbie at this CCTV stuff.. Thank You

Also, I think im set on nothing less then 700line. I want to be able to see someones face clearly and not just a fuzz..

Thank you guys for the info.. I might end up replacing the DVR soon then. And for the Cameras i was thinking just having 1 PTZ on the front of my driveway so i can view my drive way aswell as the street. But i'll go with multiple cameras instead now..

Anyone use shoppingcctv.com? I've been looking at the products they have on thier website as well as on ez-watch-security-cameras.com. are either of these 2 companies good?

Hello all, Im new here and new to the CCTV world. I set up my house with a few cameras already and working on my yard where we keep our company trucks at. Im looking to upgrade the cameras at my house with new and better quality ones. Anyone have a certain brand that are better then or are they pretty much all the same? Also any suggestions on motion tracking cameras for my yard. Right now at my house I have a Lorex 16 channel LH326501C4 DVR, is that a decent DVR or was that a bad purchase on my end?
