Best Solution For Digital Recording And Control...
jigs replied to jigs's topic in Digital Video Recorders
Many thanks for the info on the regs, didnt release this was the case. The good news is the there are going to be cameras two from two back but all are 10 metres apart. Should I just have the cables run into the study?Just means a lot of cable which will not look nice -
Hi All, Im hoping to have 6 Cameras installed on the outside of a residential property. The cameras will be placed under the eaves of the fron and back roofs with all the wiring(power and rg59) being run in the loft. There is a study on the first floor which wwill have the monitor and DVR. The cablining can be run down from the loft to the study. The problem is I dont want it to be noisey (from the DVR) but at the same time I wish to have control of the cameras from the study. What is the best solution for this scenario? If I kept the DVR in the loft and run one cable down for the monitor what is the best way of controlling the DVR without being able to physically get to it? All help, advice and ideas are appreciated. Thanks in advance... Jig:)

Want to have the ability to change cameras and also playback any footage (by control I dont want to zoom or pan the cameras as this is not possible) Which DVR's do you recommend that use this client software? How does it allow control and playback? I want to network the DVR also as I currently have wireless broadband. -
Hi, I have a Dedicated Micros Digital Sprite DX16C Multiplexer, I have it setup with three internal and two external housed cameras. I do not have a manual but trying I need to adjust the picture, how can I select the highest picture quality? Currently the picture is 'whitened' and quality is poor . (I have checked each camera seperately and the pictures from each camera is fine). How do I do this? Cant find the option on the menu All help and advice is greatly appreciated. Thanks

The external cameras are not IR but day/night samsung 520p's and the internal ones are high res colour domes. I have tested the cameras by plugging straight into the back of the tv via bnc and the picture quality is ok and have confirmed it is not the cables or the cameras. The picture does look 'washed out' its like a whiter picture like there is too much light and therefore not providing a clear colourful picture(sorry if this is not clear )

Hi Guys, thanks for the prompt replies. The camera looks exactly like the pic above at the back. It has the IR switch and all other inputs the same. Its a proper samsung branded camera but not sure what you mean by GVI? -

Does anyone know if the 2931 is a 'true' day night, this is an important factor as it may sway the decision depsite the specifications? Which one would you choose? (Have the option of returning the 2931 and ordering the 520p) -
I wish to buy a satndalone 8 channel dvr that will meet the following requirements and be under $1000(£600) (excluding HD costs) Good frames per minute Must be at a minimum triplex (avtech dvr is a pentaplex) Be able to back up onto cd/dvd-r And most importantly be able to be networkable - ie I want to be able to view from anywhere by being able to log onto a website(without instlling any software on the computer used). Hi All, New to the site so please go easy! I am currently trying to draw up a list of kit required for two jobs. I have an a qualified engineer to do the work but has left it to me to choose and purchase what I want/need: Requirements: Office - Located on a corner location but has some lighting from the street lights. Needs to have visible cameras outside which can each cover 15 metres to cover each door. Two cameras inside but these need to be more covert (which will be used predominantly during the day - no night security needed inside) Home - Need four cameras preferable not large and bodied prison style cameras!Need to be more discreet but semi visible. two overlooking the front drive away, under the eaves(ie placed just under the roofline) -fitted on each corner (one wide angle to cover the drive and the other narrow). Two overlooking the rear garden, under the eaves -fitted on each corner (one wide angle to cover the whole garden and the other to look on to the lengh of the house at the rear). Placing one more camera facing the door area at just below 1st floor height(under an eave facing down) For both - Should be able to record onto a standalone dvr, view the recordings over the internet and also be able to watch through a number of TVs present. Specification - I have come up with but not sure...
