I hadn't noticed that at first glance, guess I should've been reading with a more critical eye. I attempted to ask their "live chat" but was given a contact form after waiting a few mins... I was hoping someone who had used one could chime in. I actually found reference to that one from another post on this board, although it could've just been someone self-promoting. Another major different between the SC-Black and the Qvis/Dahua is a lack of mobile viewing. Doesn't look like it's compatible with any smart devices (or even remote viewing outside of my network?). I'm starting to lean more towards the Qvis. I think I may be able to overlook the D1 fps advantage and go with the Qvis with more features/support. That is, unless anyone here tells me how great their life has been since installing the SC-Black.. Thanks for the responses guys, -Casey

Spec'ing out a surveillance system and I'm considering the SC-Black 8 channel model. According to their website it offers full D1 recording on all 8 channels. Am I missing something big, or is this just a good deal for under $400? I was considering the Apollo HD 8, but the SC seems like much more bang for the buck (they're priced about the same). Any thoughts or comments are appreciated. Thanks! -Casey
