The above camera appears to have image burn in or something else going on. At night camera has been pointed at concrete with pretty strong glare from a night light in one corner of the image. A perfectly round circle has appeared in the image on the picture. The circle covers about 5% of the image. Hoped it was something on glass but not so. Could it be burn in?

Videosecu 540TVL zoom camera image burn in?

Cancel this post. Somehow something had gotten inside the camera and on the lens. Could not clean from outside. Go figure. -
I have DVR 308 by Merit/Lilin. Read lots of stuff online about reviews and such about the various DVR's. I find that most have acceptable features to serve the retail consumer. Reliability is of course a given. Beyond that to me the most important performance issue is how it looks on live screen and on playback. Most cameras I have, be they 480TVL or 530TVL look great if you bypass the DVR and view directly on TV. The problem comes relative to the degradation when running through the DVR. My question then becomes, are there reviews sources online that simply look at dvr units that experience very little degradation of the live/recorded image when running through the DVR. All the features and bells and whistles mean nothing if the units don't pass muster on this issue.

LCD Television as my main cctv monitor resolution problems?

I did finally run the VGA output and it looked okay. Some cameras looked better through the bnc composite and some looked better through the VGA. Go figure. Either way there is some degradation of image quality when running through DVR, which was to be expected I guess. -
LCD Television as my main cctv monitor resolution problems?

Have read on this forum until I am punch drunk. So help on this would be appreciated. My system is a Merit/Lilin DVR 308, supposed to be full D1, with VideoSecu IR cameras with 540 TVL and Siamese cable and BNC. I am using a 46 inch LCD HD Tv as my monitor. Quality of the picture is not what i think it should be. My question is, What can I do to be sure I am getting the least degradation in picture using this combination. Should I try the VGA input/outlets on TV and DVR. DVR advertises up to 1920 x 1080 resolution. I have read about trying to match up resolutions on TV and DVR. Does that work. Thanks Ty -

Any settings on dvr,tv that could be changed deinterlacing, etc. It is amazing how much better the cameras can perform when directly fed into Tv. Obviously there is some degradation of picture when running through dvr. Thanks
