    Pelco DX 8100

Thanks Pelco doesn't really want to give a clear answer on the subject and for good reason, $3500 for a 2TB drive is no way to treat your customer base.

    Pelco DX 8100

Looking for storage options for Pelco DX 8100 DVR. I have 4 of them, 2 are 1TB running win 2000 pro and 2 are 500GB running win xp. All 4 are version 1.XXX and not the 2.XXX that supports external drives. Pelco drive kits for these DVR's are very expensive, 1TB is $2400 and 2TB is $3500. The drive they use is made by Maxtor and I can buy a security rated 1TB drive for $200, why is the Pelco drive so much and can I use any rated drive? I don't care about the warranty being void.
